ALL* ABOVE ALL CAMPAIGN MEMBERS RESPOND TO
SUSTAINABLE GROWTH RATE HYDE PROVISION
03/24/15 – Members of the All* Above All campaign, a coalition of over 60 organizations
united to build support for lifting the bans that deny abortion coverage, responded today to
anti-choice attempts to insert harmful and unnecessary abortion coverage provisions in the
Sustainable Growth Rate repeal package.
Jessica González-Rojas, Executive Director at the National Latina Institute for
Reproductive Health
“This is yet another attack to interfere with a woman’s personal decision making. The harm
of the Hyde Amendment is real, with a disproportionate impact on Latinas and women of
color. We urge Congress to stop using low-income women as a political bargaining chip.”
Kate Stewart, Vice President, Public Affairs, Advocates for Youth
“This is March Madness, but the losers are women and their reproductive health. The Hyde
Amendment creates insurmountable barriers for women who need to make important,
personal decisions based on what is best for her circumstances. These close-door attacks
do nothing for women’s health and downplay the severity of Hyde’s reach.”
Shivana Jorawar, Reproductive Justice Program Director, National Asian Pacific
American Women's Forum
"This is yet another example of partisan politics derailing legislation that is important to our
communities. Abortion restrictions have no place in this bill."
