 BASIC INSURANCE PERMIT: ACU44385 MSA Event No: 27669MY2/3 FINAL INSTRUCTIONS The 2015 BAJA GB / Tarenig Rally ­ ​Saturday 2nd May, Sunday 3rd May 2015 Organised by RallyMoto Ltd, ACU Club ref: 0754 Riding numbers will be provided – you do not need to get them yourself. RallyMoto Ltd, a Recognised ACU Promoter, will hold an Open All Terrain Rally event held under an All Terrain Rally / Enduro Permit, the ACU National Sporting Code the Supplementary Regulations and any Final Instructions that may be issued. Eligibility: Open to any rider who is a member of an ACU Affiliated Club or the SACU and who is in possession of an appropriate ACU licence or obtains a One Event Licence for this event ­ £15. Riders who are not current members of an ACU Club may obtain membership of RallyMoto Club at a cost of £10.00 Any rider who does not hold a current A.C.U or SACU Enduro licence must complete an application for a day licence for which a £15.00 fee is payable in advance with this event entry. Full licence holders must show their current A.C.U or SACU licence at signing on or a day licence fee will be charged; for insurance purposes there can be no exceptions to this rule. THIS EVENT IS RUN UNDER THE ACU BASIC INSURANCE SCHEME, THERE IS NO PERSONAL ACCIDENT COVER I/we understand and accept that as these regulations state the insurance cover for this event will be Basic (limit of liability £10M) and Medical Malpractice insurance (limit of liability £5m) is included. There is NO Personal Accident Insurance for Competitors. Tel 0770 392 4448 START The start will be located at the Sweet Lamb Rally Complex, Sweet Lamb Rally Complex, Glanrhyd, Llangurig, Llanidloes, Powys, SY18 6SY. The turning is approximately 6 miles west of Llangurig on the main A44 ­ Llangurig to Aberwystyth road. The turning to the paddock/service will be clearly marked on the main road. Camping is available at the service area / paddock. The camping is very basic and only really suited to vans and motorhomes. There are portaloos on site and catering is on site from early Saturday morning. Food is available in at Ponterwydd, Llangurig and Llanidloes. COURSE Course: will be approx. 50 miles of hard based tracks, fire roads and single track. The course is split into two sections, one 18 mile loop and one 32 mile loop. Lap times will be very relaxed. Riders will start from the service / paddock area at 1 minute intervals. The course will be marked with Dayglo arrows with additional marking on the special stages. Please note you must follow the course marking at all times. Under NO circumstances may you ride in the opposite direction to the course as this is likely to cause a major accident. If you require assistance, please wait for a travelling marshal. Anyone seen or reported for riding against the course will be excluded and barred from all future RallyMoto Ltd events. There is no sighting lap for this event. TIMED STAGES The special test will be, timed to the nearest ‘000 second. N.B. The timing procedure is slightly different for this event.​ When arriving at the start point for the timed stage the timing marshal will give you a minute to start the stage, this will be a delay of three minutes, you should proceed into the start area, wait for your minute (3 minutes) and then start the stage. The timing marshal will make a note of your start time ­ there is no need for the rider to make a note of the start time. The rider then rides the timed stage, at the end of the timed stage there will be a warning marker board for the end of the timing and an actual end marker, this is a flying finish ­ so go through the end of the timing point at speed. There will then be countdown boards for approximately 400m ­ this will allow you to slow down and to ​STOP​ at the timing marshals point. Here your race number will be confirmed and the timing marshal will make a note of your finish time. Again there is no need for riders to make a note of this time. ​But you must STOP​. This is the procedure at each timed stage. Stage Marking Times stage marking: this is marked by orange arrows following the convention above. N.B. This is slightly different to our usual stage marking. All liaison will be marked by orange arrows for motorcycle competitors. SIGNING ON Signing on commences at 7.00am Saturday 2nd May in the paddock area. All riders and marshals must sign on before commencement of the event. All competitors should be signed on before going to machine examination (scrutineering). MACHINE EXAMINATION Starts at 7.30am. You must sign on first ­ then place your organiser supplied numbers (front and side) on your bike then go to to scrutineering. All bikes must remain in the parc ferme after examination. (See route map) All machines must comply with current ACU All Terrain Rally Regulations as per the current A.C.U. handbook. Bore and stroke must be marked on cases to enable sound metering to be carried out. INSURANCE All bikes must be road legal, insured and road taxed as there is a 100m road liaison on each lap. Road Traffic Accident insurance is available at signing on ­ £22 for both days. RIDERS BRIEFING A riders briefing will take place at the start area at 8.45am on Saturday 2nd May ­ all riders MUST attend. START TIMES First bike is away at 9.00am on Saturday and 8.00am on Sunday ­ all start times for riders will be posted at signing on. LATE PENALTY More than 30 mins late for any check will mean exclusion from the event. If this occurs on Day 1 a restart on Day 2 will be allowed. TYRES Front and rear must be “Enduro” type tp current FIM specification or a commercially available tyre and have an E Mark and / or DOT (American Department of transportation) approval and DOT number must be moulded on the tyre wall. No motocross tyres will be allowed. NOISE This event is being held on Forestry Commission ground and passes a number of residences on the road liaison, and we want to show everyone concerned that we are professional and considerate users of the area. Please drive slowly and quietly on where the track is marked as “Slow” Machines will be randomly tested as per ACU Control of Exhaust Noise Regulations Any machines appearing to have modified or aftermarket silencers will be automatically tested. RESULTS / PRIZE GIVING Results will be calculated at the end of Sunday with PRIZE PRESENTATION and photographs on the Sunday. All competitors will need to complete the specified number of laps on both days as outlined at signing on to be included in the results, by not completing all the laps on both days you will get a DNF. Your accumulative time for all sections over both days will give your final position in the results. Wi­Fi FOR RESULTS / CONNECTIVITY We have a Wi­Fi service in place in Sweet Lamb. Marshals instructions must be complied with when crossing rights of way, including stopping if requested. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification. RE­FUELING Re­fueling must only take place in the paddock / service area and competitors must use an environmental mat to prevent spills. All crews must provide a suitable fire extinguisher. No smoking in the paddock / service area and parc­ferme. After each stage competitors will return to the paddock/service ­ so fuel requirement will be a maximum of 35 miles. ENVIRONMENTAL MAT As per ACU Enduro Regulations 3.16. A piece of carpet will act as an environmental mat, please remember to take it home with you REFRESHMENTS A catering facility with a full range of hot meals and snacks will be available at the start area from 07h00 on Saturday 2nd May..
