Drills for Skills Clinic
Park City Mountain Resort – March 24-25, 2015
Objectives:
• Improve understanding of a skills approach to alpine ski racing
• Be able to implement a creative approach to skills teaching
• Able to apply skills in open and closed environments
Content:
• Review fundamental skills – what are they and why are they important?
• Using SkillsQuest as a starting point in teaching and measuring skills
• On-hill demonstrations of skill progressions with a focus on teaching to
children
• Methods to keep large groups moving quickly through skills progressions
• Skills in freeskiing and skills in gates
• Open discussion and sharing of drill and teaching ideas for skills

Cost:
$50/2 days; $30/1 day. Must pre-register at USSA Education Shop. Lift tickets are not included.
Continuing education:
Each day counts for ½ continuing education credit (1.0 credit for the full clinic). Certified coaches
must earn 1.0 continuing education credit every two years to keep their certification active.
