2015 AMA (NSW) GOLF SOCIETY TOUR - JAPAN
ITINERARY
DAY 1: Wednesday, 07 October
Welcome to Japan, home of cherry blossoms, Mt Fuji and the original bullet trains.
On arrival at Miyazaki Airport, your hotel transfer will be waiting to transfer you to the Sheraton Grande Ocean
Resort
in the heart of the region’s best golf courses. This evening, join your fellow golfers for welcome drinks & canapes
and a chance to hear all the tee time details and information.
DAY 2: Thursday, 08 October
Time to hit the greens! Enjoy a round of golf at the PGA star Tom Watson’s designed course. This course is as
challenging as it is rewarding. Surrounded by black pine groves, the beautiful 18-hole course’s fairway has
everything
from the liberating play of wide, flat holes to tight bottle-neck strips that demand straight, disciplined shots. There’s
a lot to enjoy on this course.
DAY 3: Friday, 09 October
This morning head out to the Phoenix Country Club for your second day of golf. Ranked as one of the top 100
courses
in the world, one of the top 3 courses in Japan and the site of the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament since 1974. The
Phoenix Country Club is located within the Phoenix Seagaia Resort. Lined by pine groves and lusciously designed,
the beauty of
this course is matched only by its excitement.
DAY 4: Saturday, 10 October
Enjoy a 2nd round of golf at the Tom Watson designed course.
DAY 5: Sunday, 11 October
You’ll head back to the Phoenix Country Club today for your last day of golf in Miyazaki.
DAY 6: Monday, 12 October
Bid Miyazaki farewell as you transfer to the local railway station & board the world famous Shinkansen train to travel
through the spectacular Japanese countryside to Kobe. Travelling at over 280km per hour, the journey will take in
some of the most scenic areas of the country. With only hand carry items, the journey will be hassle free &
enjoyable.
On arrival in Kobe you will be met at the station and transferred to the Kobe Oriental Hotel for the next part of your
stay.
DAY 7: Tuesday, 13 October
Today you’ll transfer to one of Japan’s finest courses just outside of Kobe. Masters International Golf Club is a
beautifully maintained course, even the trees are in meticulous condition and trimmed from top to bottom to create
an
effect of walking through a garden. It also has all the key ingredients of a championship course and home of the
LPGA
event: strategically placed bunkers, double dog-legs, carries over natural hazards and small elevated greens.
DAY 8: Wednesday, 14 October
A golfing treat today at the private members course - Rokko Kokusai Golf Club - recognised as one of the best golf
courses in Japan. Just 15kms from Kobe City, this spacious course is laid out in a wide space surrounded by natural
forest. The course was redesigned in 1996 by Jack Nicklaus. As this is your last night in Japan, you’ll enjoy a group
farewell dinner tonight.
DAY 9: Thursday, 15 October
