About HAITI
Haiti... The Soul of the Caribbean
Just a few years after the devastating January 2010 earthquake, Haiti has established a path toward peace and
democracy. A number of foreign investments such as the Marriott and Best Western Hotels in the West, The
Sonapi Industrial Park in the North and the tremendous success of companies such as Digicel and Jamaica
Broilers nationwide are undeniable testaments to the fact that Haiti is indeed open for business. Today, Haiti
looks to the future with optimistic enthusiasm and steadfast determination to play a vital role in the business
future of the Americas.
As History’s first free black republic, Haiti is proud of the historic battle it fought for the emancipation of
hundreds of thousands of slaves, ultimately helping to humanize the world, and making it a place where
people can claim their right to freedom and the pursuit of national security and prosperity. This is what makes
Haiti the Soul of the Caribbean.
Haiti is full of great surprises with unique flora and fauna and a rich cultural and historical patrimony. Haitian
people are friendly, welcoming and teaming with curiosity. The country offers many attractions including:
scenic panoramas, pristine beaches, yearlong sunshine, a rainbow of unique Caribbean colors and flavors,
inventive quality craftsmanship and a rich culture of music and dance. Here, tradition and modernity meld
together to the benefit and pleasure of visitors.
