SLEEPY’S CASE STUDY SLEEPY’S CASE STUDY Amplience Helps Sleepy’s Give Mattress Shopping a Wake-up Call. Amplience’s platform has helped Sleepy’s reduce image management time significantly, improving productivity by an estimated 20 percent. Sleepy’s is America’s largest privately-owned and operated specialty mattress retailer. The company operates over 1,000 retail showrooms, and also has a thriving online business that contributes significantly to its annual revenue and supports these showrooms. During the site’s redesign, Sleepy’s looked to optimize image management across the company. The images, which were used by the POS, the company intranet and the websites, were housed in an Oracle database and required constant manual resizing and uploads. This was a very time-intensive endeavor that negatively impacted internal workflow and processes. Sleepy’s also wanted to enhance customer experience via improved site design and page load speed. The previous platform didn’t allow for visual enhancements that would enable efficient usability for customers, and the company sought to replace it with a system that not only facilitated visual engagements but also enabled them across channels. To address these issues, Sleepy’s turned to Amplience’s Dynamic Media, which enabled the company to upload images through the platform and adapt them automatically, on the fly. Dynamic imaging allows retailers to easily resize all images from one master asset, optimize video delivery for all devices (including iOS) and showcase product details with integrated video, zoom and spin. The platform has also helped the company deliver information in the fastest way possible across any device and provide an optimal customer experience both online and offline. Sleepy’s is an omnichannel retailer, with 45 percent of its customers engaging with the company across a smartphone or tablet device – often utilizing multiple devices during the same purchasing journey. “Mattress shopping isn’t traditionally thought of as a visual experience, but the truth is that mattresses and other sleep items are incredibly personal, and shoppers want the opportunity to interact with them as much as possible before purchasing. Sleepy’s always strives to deliver the optimum experience for our consumers, which means providing content when they want it, where they want it and how they want to receive it. Since implementing Amplience Dynamic Media, Sleepy’s has not only streamlined internal image management processes, we’ve also made great strides in delivering the most efficient, effective usability for our customers and providing a better visual experience to help them feel more secure in their purchasing decisions.” Christopher Cucuzza, VP of IT, Sleepy’s www.amplience.com SLEEPY’S CASE STUDY Providing a seamless customer experience, no matter the channel in play, is critical for Sleepy’s and is a key element of what dynamic media helps deliver. The results speak for themselves. Since Sleepy’s Amplience implementation, revenues have been steadily on the rise. Keys Business Benefits Sleepy’s is currently planning three additional dynamic media rollouts across its brands for the coming year. The first of the three, with the 1800Mattress brand, is planned for September, followed by a second in November with Mattress Discounters. The timeline for the final rollout with Mattress.com has yet to be confirmed. “Dynamic Media is a powerful solution that is playing an increasingly important role for retailers looking to enhance their websites and ensure that customers benefit from the best possible user experience, no matter what channel they use to interact with a brand,” said Rory Dennis, GM North America, Amplience. “In today’s competitive ecommerce landscape, the ability to provide an in-depth experience for users is a key differentiator that drives sales. In addition, Dynamic Media also has the added benefit of expediting image related processes on the backend, which can deliver a cost savings of up to 80% over conventional image management processes.” 15% increase in overall conversions 20% increase in revenue related to the overall site redesign 20% boost in productivity ABOUT AMPLIENCE Amplience enables global brands and retailers to engage more deeply with their customers through persuasive digital experiences that seamlessly combine content and commerce.
