AutoMD Joins Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association:
Endorses MAP Standards for Repair Shops
AutoMD.com is newest member of trade organization
dedicated to helping the automotive service and repair industry earn consumer trust
Arlington Heights, IL/Carson, CA – April 03, 2015 – The Automotive Maintenance Repair Association (AMRA)
today announced that AutoMD.com has joined the association as its newest member. AutoMD.com, the most
comprehensive and unbiased online automotive repair resource for consumers will work with AMRA to increase
consumer trust in the auto repair industry through rigorous standards of service and improved communication
between consumers and repair shops. AutoMD.com works with a network of over 2,000 repair shops
nationwide and endorses AMRA’s Motorist Assurance Program standards.
AMRA’s Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) is dedicated to helping the automotive service and repair industry
earn consumer trust through the MAP Participating Facility program and by utilizing the MAP Standards of
Service and Uniform Inspection and Communication Standards. MAP addresses the need for improved
communication between customers and auto repair facilities so customers understand what they agreed to and
know what they're getting.
“AutoMD.com is dedicated to a better repair experience for both consumers and auto repair providers and we
believe that the standards set by MAP, which include a road map for improved communication with consumers,
uniformity in repair recommendations and specific guidelines designed to eliminate confusion and mistrust, are
a perfect fit with our mandate, which is to provide consumers with all the information they need to make the
best decisions on auto repair,” said Tracey Virtue, Vice President of AutoMD.com. “We believe the 2,000+ repair
shops in our AutoMD Insta-Quotes!® network are among the best in the business and our endorsement of MAP
standards underscores our commitment to connect consumers with the highest quality repair shops in the
industry.”
Through its network of repair shops, AutoMD.com enables consumers to get instant comparative quotes on
repair jobs from local repair shops and to select the right local auto repair shop at the right price for their repair
issue. Since its inception, AutoMD.com has helped over 35 million consumers with their auto repair needs and
their search for trustworthy automotive repair shops.
“Our mission aligns perfectly with that of AutoMD.com. We welcome them to our association and look forward
to working with them to help shops improve their communication with motorists and to follow inspection
standards within our industry,” said Joe Henmueller, President and COO of AMRA/MAP. “By endorsing the MAP
process for its network of repair shops across the US, AutoMD.com joins AMRA/MAP in helping strengthen the
relationship between the motorist and the automotive maintenance and repair service industry.”
