There is never just one time of the year to sew. Many sew more in the cold wet months, but it is something that
can be done all year. Many sewers start their Christmas projects in July hence why we often do a Christmas in
July event. If you have a big project or several to do for Christmas you need to start them early in order to get
them done in time. We have our Christmas fabric scheduled already to arrive in July so you can get started.
Have a trip planned? Need a swimsuit cover up or a comfortable maxi dress for your trip? Come and see what we
have to offer you with fashionable printed knits that would be perfect for a cover-up, maxi dress, t-shirt and sew
much more. Need some help sewing one of these items? Sign up for one of the Sundrop Sewing Workshops. We
offer workshops on Tuesdays both in the morning and evening. You can work at your own pace and the instructor is
there to help you if needed. This is a very social sewing class so come and join the fun!!
We have some great new printed polyester fabrics that would make perfect cushion covers, bags, placemats etc. We
are always bringing in new fabrics so be sure to drop in and see what we have in store.

April is in the process of developing a series of quilt classes that will teach you some of the basics and beyond. It
will be something you can follow from the first block or jump in when the technique appeals to you. This series will
start in our fall newsletter, we are very excited about it. It will be a fun journey, watch for more details coming

DAYTIME SEWING WORKSHOP- All Skill Levels Welcome
We have had a request for a daytime sewing workshop for those
that can’t make the regular evening sewing workshop. This class
will be the same format and will be perfect for all levels of sewers.
You choose your project and we provide the instructor to help you
along the way. Great for beginners that want to learn to sew and
also for intermediate to advanced sewers that want to try something
new and would like someone to help them over the bumps. Maybe
you would just like to spend a few hours with other sewers enjoying
this great hobby.

EVENING SEWING WORKSHOP- All Skill Levels Welcome
Here is a sewing class you can design yourself. Use this class to
get further instruction on a Sundrop project that never quite got
finished or just as a special evening away from all the distractions
at home. Lori will be on hand to ensure you keep learning new
ideas and methods. There is no longer any excuse to have a box of

loopers, tensions and differential? Then let us help you with
serger Sanity. We will walk you through all the basics of your
serger so you can learn to enjoy this great machine. Please be
sure your serger is in good working order before class.
This class is open to all makes and models. Please bring your
manual and all accessories that came with your machine.
This fully lined custom made cover will fit your machine perfectly.
Jennifer has developed the cover based on the photo on the new
Sew Bertha embroidery design card. But you do not need to have
an embroidery machine to take the class. You will custom fit this
cover to your particular machine. This project will have great
techniques like a zippered top that allows room for your handle or
can be completely zipped closed to keep the dust out. You will
also insert some piping, apply binding and pockets. The pockets
are a perfect place to stitch out the Sew Bertha designs. Drop in
and see our sample in store now.

Creative Serging
Now is your chance to learn what else you can do on a serger
besides overlocking. Try something new and different with your
serger, including adding decorative thread to make an old stitch
new again!! Try flatlocking, fine tune a rolled edge, learn different
techniques for different materials. We will show you some simple
techniques that will make a huge difference in the final outcome.
You will make pages of samples that you stitch out on your own
serger. You can then place them in a binder for your future
reference. In order to get the most out of this class you should be
comfortable with threading and rethreading your serger. This
class is open to all makes and models. Please be sure your
serger is in good working order prior to class.

This compact, light weight machine has the famous
Pfaff IDT system and 70 stitches. Perfect for taking to
classes, or if you are short on space.

Cowl Neckline Converted Tee
Adding a cowl neckline will transform a simple t-shirt
pattern into a dressy top that can be worn during the day
or evening. Any favourite t-shirt pattern (jewel or scoop
neck) can be changed to have a draped cowl neckline.
Carolyn will be working with Jalie 2805 (view A) but any
pattern with a similar neckline will work. It is best to

Fit a Knit??Yes, we fit knits too!! Learn how to make some easy

Jennifer has created her own all purpose tote that she has
made a few of to use for several purposes. One is her lunch
bag, another for her grandson’s blocks. You can make yours for
whatever you need. She has quilted some and used a variety of

have seen and making it your own and that is how Jennifer

Sew Along With Me Series
We are starting a new style of class where you sew
along with the instructor. We will choose a project
like a Jalie pattern and the instructor will sew along
with you so we are all doing the same thing together
and that way no one gets lost or feels left behind. It
will be a fun way to sew and then when the instructor
has a great tip to make a step easier then everyone
will be in the same place to see it first hand. We will
change the set up of the classroom for this class so
it will be more intimate.
We will be sending out project dates and information
in emails and on Facebook.

Embroidery Basics - The Next Step
Design Positioning / Precise Positioning
Now that you have worked with the basics here is the next level
for you. Now that you know how to set up for embroidery and find
your designs we will work on some other types of stitch outs. We
will do an appliqué in the hoop, endless design and a cutwork
design. These all require you to do a little more than just watch
the machine stitch out the design and will allow you another level
of embellishment with your machine.

At Sundrop we offer quality instruction in a casualatmosphere.
Class size is kept small so register early. Registration must be
accompanied by payment. If the minimum enrolment is not
reached one week before the class, it will be cancelled and you
will receive a full refund. (Keep this in mind when purchasing
your supplies). No refunds will be given 14 days (or less)
prior to the class, however a friend may accept your space. We
love to teach and our courses are created with our customers
in mind. For this reason, we REQUEST that all fabrics used in
our classes be purchased from Sundrop. We also REQUIRE
that you use one of the brands of patterns we carry at the
store.

Cancer Cap Volunteers Needed!!!
We have fabric that has been donated to the
cancer centre for making the caps. So we need
help in cutting, sewing and serging. If you can
spare some time to help make this a success we
would be very grateful.

Demo Day Saturdays
This is an on going need, we will set some dates
aside for group sew ins. But any time you want
to come in and cut and sew just give us a call.
As long as the classroom isn't in use we can set
it up for cancer caps.
What is a demo day?
Well once a month we do a small demonstration of a
notion, machine accessory, fabric use, technique etc.
on a Saturday. Check our calendar for the dates.
We greatly appreciate the help we have had in
