Instructions for Applicants:
Please complete this cover sheet and entire application form.
Applicant must have admission to Andrean High School.
PSAS must be filed with Diocese of Gary or Andrean High School (not both)
Submit a preliminary essay on the following topic: “The importance of a Catholic education in
today’s society” Include reasons to attend Andrean High School and outline your goals for
your time at Andrean. The essay should be no more than 500 words, typed, double spaced,
12 point font. Please include your name and class year at the top of each page. Some
scholarships may require an additional essay.
• Submit copies of school transcript/ most recent report card.
• This application should be completed by the student.
• All scholarship application require one initial application and may require addition criteria.

Not all scholarships are available every year, and allocation of scholarship funds depends upon the
distribution schedule and fund balances.
Brian and Connie Demkowicz Scholarship
Two renewable$5,000 scholarships awarded to students beginning sophomore year who show financial need and are
involved in at least one extracurricular activity. Please see criteria sheet for details.
George and Ann Wesbecher Memorial Scholarship
Two renewable half-tuition scholarships awarded to incoming freshmen students belonging to SS Peter and Paul Parish in
Merrillville who show financial need and involved in at least one extracurricular activity. Please see criteria sheet for
details.
Marcia M. Cardetti Memorial Scholarship
Two renewable half-tuition scholarships awarded to one female and one male sophomore, junior or senior student. Please
see criteria sheet for details.
Dawn Brancheau Foundation “Dream Big” Scholarship
One $3000 scholarship to be awarded annually completely (or divided) to an Andrean senior year. Please see criteria
sheet for details.

Andrean Alumni Scholarship
$1000 scholarship to be awarded annually to an Andrean senior year. Please see criteria sheet for details.
Basilian Fathers Scholarship
One $1000 scholarship awarded annually to an Andrean student based on essay, meeting the criteria, and financial need
as determined by PSAS. Please see criteria sheet for details.
Mark Horvath Memorial Scholarship
One $1000 scholarship awarded annually to an Andrean senior student based on essay and financial need as determined
by PSAS. Please see criteria sheet for details.
Judith Fort Gregoline Memorial Scholarship
One $1000 scholarship awarded annually to an Andrean senior student engaged in visual arts. Please see criteria sheet
for details.
Don Bosco Award Scholarship
Two $2000 scholarships awarded annually to Andrean students based on essay, meeting the criteria, and financial need
as determined by PSAS. Please see criteria sheet for details.
Matthew B. Staley Memorial Scholarship
Two $1000 scholarships awarded annually to Andrean students based on essay and financial need as determined by
PSAS. Please see criteria sheet for details.
Andrean “Red Crew” work-study Program
Andrean students may apply for $1500 tuition credit by working in a variety of ways on campus during the school year.
