Volunteer Application Form for Children
Thank you for your interest to participate as a volunteer for The Society for Animals in Distress.
Learners who wish to volunteer or do community service, must be over 12 years of age.
Typical duties could include: grooming horses, refreshing water buckets, mucking out stables, scrubbing
out kennels, grooming dogs and similar. Participants must be dressed in old clothes and shoes (please
see clothing requirements on the indemnity form).
Volunteer or community service work is done during school holidays only and between 08h00 – 12h00.
Please note that only 3 to 4 learners are taken per day. Should your application be successful, and
arrangements confirmed; please report directly to the Equine Manager on arrival at the small animal
hospital, situated at The Paddocks, Plot 20, Moerdyk Street, Vorna Valley, Midrand.
The volunteer application and indemnity forms must be signed by a parent or guardian. Kindly
complete the below in full – Your forms must be handed to the Equine Manager or Veterinarian Nurse/
Doctor when reporting for volunteer duty.
