Registration for the event will begin at 9:15AM with the contest beginning at 10:00AM. Please forward a copy of this letter and information to the Agent(s) or Volunteer(s) who are training your County’s Poultry Judging Teams. Three items are enclosed: 1) a copy of the rules and regulations for the contest, 2) details relative to the classes, and 3) a registration form. If your county plans to participate in this judging contest, please return the Registration Form by May 22, 2015. A link for the Contest is at http://animal.ifas.ufl.edu/youth/poultry/. The Contest will be conducted in the Meats Lab and the classrooms of the Animal Sciences Building (#459) on Shealy Drive, as has been the case for the past several years. Directions: Take the Archer Road Exit off I-75 and drive east on Archer Road toward UF. After passing SW 34th St., get in the right-hand lane. After passing the traffic signal at SW 23rd, follow the signs for Highway 226 as it branches off to the right and becomes SW 16th Ave. Continue on SW 16th Ave. for about 100 yards to the traffic light at Shealy Drive and turn right (south). Continue on Shealy Drive to the next to the last building on the right side (west). There is a driveway to the building just after the Straughn Extension Professional Development Center and another driveway at the end of Shealy Drive. The Meats Lab and the classrooms are at the NW corner of Buidling #459. Maps can be found at http://animal.ifas.ufl.edu/youth/resources/directionsANS.shtml. The National Poultry Judging Manual will be used as the official manual for the contest. Copies of the manual (4-H 460) can be obtained by ordering online from http://4h.unl.edu/4hcurriculum/4h460.
