Welcome to the 45th Annual Louisiana Tech
University Farm Production Sale. The sale, which
is rich in tradition, provides an excellent learning
experience for the students involved.
I would like to extend a special thank you to all of

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1.
Each lot will be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioneer will settle
any disputes as to bids.
2.
All announcements from the auction booth on sale day will take
precedence over statements in this catalog.
3.
Terms of the sale are cash or check. Checks should be made payable to
the Louisiana Tech University Foundation.
4.
Each animal will be at the purchaser’s risk as soon as sold; however,
the university will feed and care for the animals, without charge to the
purchaser, for a period of up to 48 hours after the sale if prior
arrangements are made.
5.
Lots 1 through 11 are market animals that will, at the buyer’s request,
be processed and wrapped into retail cuts by the Louisiana Tech Meat
Science Lab, with no additional charge to the buyer. Please allow 30 to
60 days for completion of processing for hogs and lambs and 90 days
for steers. Market animals will be sold by the cwt.

All cattle have been dewormed and vaccinated for IBR, PI-3,
BVD, Lepto, and Vibrio.
All horses have been dewormed and vaccinated for Eastern
and Western Equine Encephalomyelitis, West Nile Virus,
Tetanus, Influenza, and Rhinopneumonitis and have a current
negative Coggins Test.
The Louisiana Tech beef herd is certified Brucelloisis-free
(Herd #89-816).
Health certificates for interstate travel and other appropriate
documents will be provided on each animal.
Registration certificates for registered animals will be available to
buyers at check out.

MINIATURE PONY
Donated by the Skip Russell Family Farm. All proceeds go to the
Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund.
Lots 1 through 11 are market animals that will, at the buyer’s request, be
processed and wrapped into retail cuts by the Louisiana Tech Meat
Science Lab, with no additional charge to the buyer. Please allow 30 to
60 days for completion of processing for hogs and lambs and 90 days for

TECH FARM MEAT BASKET
This basket of meat consists of products processed by the Tech
Farm Meat Science Laboratory and includes pork sausage, beef
patties, ground beef, bacon, lamb chops, ground lamb, beef
sirloin, ribeyes, porkchops, and Bulldog Rub. All proceeds go to
the Agricultural Sciences Scholarship Fund. Ready for your grill,
this package also includes the ice chest.

These black baldy steers were produced and raised at the Louisiana Tech
University Beef Unit. They are by a purebred Hereford bull and out of
purebred Angus cows and will be ready for your freezer.

good for an experienced rider and his previous owner used him to
work cattle. He has had about 30 days of riding since coming to
Tech Farm.

been donated by Dr. William Green. Her grandsire, RR RISKY
MASTRPIECE, is ROM in calf roping, heading, healing, and steer
stopping and has points in reining and halter and her dam sells as
LOT 51. All proceeds go toward the scholarship fund.

DANI RED SUGAR DRIFT is a nice, unregistered 8-year-old
Quarter Horse mare. She has had about 90 days of riding since
coming to Tech Farm, is an easy keeper and should make a great
cow horse prospect.

PAINT MARE
Lot 12 is a nice 16-month-old Polled Hereford heifer that has
been donated to our scholarship fund by Dr. William Green.
BOS LITTLE SUGAR is an 18-year-old Paint mare with great
breeding. She is out of a daughter of DOCS SUG and by the great
BODACIOUS DREAM. This mare was broke to ride, but has
been used as a broodmare for several years. Donated by Dr.
William Green, with proceeds going toward the scholarship fund.

POCO DE CHIEF is a nice, unregistered 11-year-old dun
gelding. He is broke to ride, has had dressage training, and is a
great riding horse, especially on trails.

SCF CHIEFS LAST STRAW is an 8-year-old tobiano Paint mare
that has had about 90 days riding since coming to Tech Farm. She
is quick to learn and should make a great playday or pleasure horse
prospect.

PRIEFERT MODEL CC1564 CATTLE CAGE
Priefert’s Cattle Cage provides a versatile option for the secure
containment of cattle. Ideal for use with small herds or show animals, the
Cattle Cage can transform from a working chute to a grooming chute in
seconds. The cattle cage features a Priefert headgate, a side sliding
tailgate, and removable sides to provide maximum access to the animal –
all for a fraction of the price of a standard squeeze chute. Donated by
Tommy Dugdale (Tommy’s Feed Store and More) and Priefert District
Sales Representative, Charles Woods, all proceeds will benefit the
scholarship fund.

LOTS 14 through 17 are 8-year-old purebred Black Angus cows with
bull calves at side, all sired by a Brahman bull. They were A.I. exposed
to a LBW purebred Black Angus bull on April 15, then turned out with a
Brahman bull.
LOTS 18 through 20 are 3 or 4-year-old Angus cross cows with calves
at side, all sired by a purebred Black Angus Bull and have been exposed
back to a LBW purebred Black Angus bull on April 1, 2015.
