Antrim Hockey Club Mr. G.Shirley Sixes Organiser Antrim Men’s Hockey Club Feburary 2015 Dear Sir/Madam On behalf of Antrim Men’s Hockey Club, I would like to invite you to enter teams in our 55th annual Antrim Six-a-side hockey tournament to be held at the Antrim Forum Leisure Centre from the 25th April to the 1st May 2015. The event is staged as a festival of hockey at the end of the domestic league season and is an opportunity for teams to play expressive hockey in a fun environment. The event is staged in conjunction with Antrim Borough Council, with provision of grant funding and the preparation of the Paddy Marks Arena for the event We would request that club match secretaries and schools staff could encourage club members and pupils to get involved. The minimum we can offer is the opportunity to get involved in a fast moving, very enjoyable tournament, that has been very well supported in previous years. If we can be of assistance or if you require clarification or additional information then please do not hesitate to call on 07703642506 or email [email protected] Yours faithfully Greg Shirley Sixes 2015 Whats On Saturday 25th (Boys start 9.30am and Girls start at 1.45pm): Under 15 & 18 Boys Under 15 & 18 Girls Monday 27th (Start 6.30pm): Under 13 Boys Under 13 Girls Junior Men Tuesday 28th (Start 6.30pm): Junior Ladies Ladies Masters Wednesday 29th (Start 6.30pm): Intermediate Ladies Thursday 30th (Start 6.30pm): Senior Ladies Friday 1st (Start 6.30pm): Mixed Subject to change Tournament Rules •Clubs may enter teams in Senior and Junior Sections if they so desire, subject to the following player registration rules: - Mens Section - No registered Premier player or Senior 1 player will be eligible to compete in the Junior Section of the Tournament; - Ladies Section - Senior Section for players in Premier, Senior 1 & 2 and Junior 1 - Intermediate Section for Senior 3 & 4, Junior 2-5 players - Junior Section for players from Junior 6-11 leagues - Players must be within age limit for U13, U15 and U18 on the 30th of June 2014 - Players must be over 35 on the night of the event for the Masters section •No player may play for 2 teams in the same section •Each team may carry three reserves, and all may take part in any one match •The Open Mixed Section shall consist of 3 males and 3 females on the field at any one time. First shot at short corners must be taken by a female. •Games will be of 15 minute duration. Any delay in starting will be taken off the playing time. All matches must start before half-time, otherwise the points will be awarded to the team which is ready to play. •No extra time is allowed for taking penalty strokes or corners. Should there be a tie in points at the end of the day, “goals for” will count and should goals be equal, “goals against” will count. •All games will be played under I.H.U. Rules. •All cups presented will be held for 12 months only. •The organisers reserve the right to alter or amend the rules and their decision on all matters is final. •Goalkeepers and Kicking Backs MUST wear protective head gear. •All players must wear gum sheild •No reverse hitting in the mixed tournament Separate rules for Mini-Hockey Sections. Tournament Info Tournament Format Teams are placed in sections of 5, playing 4 matches in a round robin format. Three pitches all with sideboards are in constant operation. The leading teams progress to the finals stages which are held on the night. Application Please apply on the enclosed entry form. Any queries please contact the organisers listed below.
