Should we be excited by this? What does SCOR do for us? We will see how companies that have used SCOR perform compared to those who don't. We will also get an overview of the SCOR model. Food for thought - companies who use the SCOR model to improve their supply chains outperform the Dow Jones and S&P by almost 40%! The definition of SCOR - The Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model provides a unique framework that links performance metrics, processes, best practices, and people into a unified structure. The framework supports communication between supply chain partners and enhances the effectiveness of supply chain management, technology, and related supply chain improvement activities. SCOR is a consensus model. It was developed and continues to evolve with the direct input of industry leaders who manage global supply chains and use it daily to analyze and improve the performance of their organizations. It features an intentionally broad scope and definitions that can be adapted to the specific supply chain requirements of any industry or application. Bruce E. Spurgeon has built world class international supply chains in several industries. He is Six Sigma, Lean and APICS certified with over 25 years experience in international manufacturing and supply chain. Bruce has held positions in all areas of supply chain, including Director of Logistics and Planning at Larson Manufacturing, Global Industry Director at PeopleSoft and Director of Materials Systems for York International’s Engineered Systems Group. Bruce has been on Supply Chain Council’s SCOR/Six Sigma/Lean SIG Steering Committee, MESA board and is currently president of an APICS chapter. Bruce is a frequent speaker, trainer and educator in all areas of high performance manufacturing and supply chain. He has spoken in many forums and seminars, Supply Chain conferences, numerous ERP User Groups and has presented at the APICS International Conference.
