Hempstead Welcomes new Interim Pastor as Brother
Joseph Lamidi moves back to Houston, Texas
The mission of the Apostolic Faith
Church is to spread the Gospel of
Jesus Christ. We accomplish this as
we:
Pray - We make prayer the basis of
every ministry and encourage communion with God as the way we
grow to spiritual maturity in Him.
After faithfully serving the Hempstead congregation
for six and half years, the headquarters church announced the relocation of Brother Joseph Lamidi to
Houston, Texas. It was determined and announced
that Brother Alfred Ikotun will serve as Interim Pastor in Hempstead. He has served for many years at
the 265 Lafayette Avenue Church in Brooklyn on
the ministerial staff and as church treasurer.
A commendation service was held in honor of
Preach - We emphasize the original Brother Lamidi’s dedication to Hempstead church a
Pentecostal doctrines of salvation,
sanctification, and the baptism of
the Holy Spirit, continually striving
to develop fully committed disciples
of Jesus Christ.
Publish - We publish the Gospel
through the printed word, the spoken word, and through our personal
lives, daily looking for opportunities
to spread the message, “Ye must be
born again.”

few weeks after the announcement. The church was
fully packed with brethren from the Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Teaneck and Bronx churches who came to
witness the occasion. Many attested to his commitments to God’s work most especially the nursing
home and children’s ministries. The highlight of the
day was the presentation by the Sunday school
department. Undoubtedly Hempstead church is
stronger as a result of Brother Joseph’s service.
Brother Alfred Ikotun is very familiar with the Hempstead congregation. On different occasions, he had
visited to lend support during special meetings and
as guest speaker. He is in a familiar terrain. We
pray the Lord to bless his ministry to move the
church to higher ground. He solicits our prayer support.
Gone But Not Forgotten - Brother Inyang Inyang
The memory of his gallantry and devotion to the cause of Christ lingers on.
Brother Inyang was a man of prayer who believed nothing was impossible with
prayer. He often quoted the scriptures "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by
prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto
God" in his admonition to bring all petitions before God.
An incident happened some years ago when one of the church vehicles was stolen. Though the entire church prayed for its recovery but the possibility of its retrieval seemed uncertain. But Brother Inyang in his usual character as a prayer
warrior was very optimistic that it would be found intact. To honor his unflinching
faith, the vehicle was found right in front of his house. God had answered the
prayers of the saints and Brother Inyang that the van would be found intact.
During his home-going service, many came from different branch churches to pay
tribute to a noble soldier of the Cross with glowing testimonies of his devotion and
exemplary Christian life. He indeed touched the lives of many. He was humble,
modest and served God tirelessly.

Steps to Salvation
Acknowledge: “For all have
sinned, and come short of the
glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
“God be merciful to me a
sinner” (Luke 18:13)
Confess: “If we confess our
sins, he is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins, and to
cleanse us from all
unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9)
Repent:“I tell you, Nay: but,
except ye repent, ye shall all
likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).
“Repent ye therefore, and be
converted, that your sins may
be blotted out” (Acts 3:19). “
Forsake “Let the wicked
forsake his way, and the
unrighteous man his thoughts:
and let him return unto the Lord,
and he will have mercy upon
him . . . for he will abundantly
pardon” (Isaiah 55:7).
Believe “For God so loved the
world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting
life” (John 3:16).

Evangelistic Outreach yields result
Reaching out to the neighborhoods within the church vicinity yielded results recently as
new kids attended Sunday
school. Sunday school teachers made significant efforts to
encourage parents as well as
their children to attend services. Some parents now accompany their children to the
services. Although they are
mostly Spanish speaking,
they enjoy the services as
they feel the spirit of God.
Pray the Lord of harvest to
send more laborers in this
area of outreach.
Future musicians grow stronger
Building on the strong foundation
as conceived by the Music Department, our young talented
musicians are striding higher
everyday as they become proficient in their music presentations.
Gone are those days when they
could hardly make smooth sounds
on their instruments. Today, they
perform at regular services and
seasonal concerts.. We are grateful to God for the progress made
so far as our “greater tomorrow”
are playing vital roles in all our
services. Please remember them
in your prayers.
How Time Flies—College Youths Prepare for Graduation!!!
It is unbelievable how quickly time flies . These youngsters entered colleges a few years ago but are now
getting ready for the workforce or further studies. It
seems like yesterday when we gathered together to
celebrate their high school graduations.
Even though many are attending colleges outside their
home State, we thank God who has preserved their
lives, keeping them in His grace despite everyday challenges on campus. We look forward to rejoice and celebrate with them during their upcoming graduation ceremonies.
We encourage you all to remain steadfast in your commitments to the Lord as we look forward to His soon
return.
