1. Introduction
1.1
What Purpose Does the KSB Application Portal Serve?
The KSB Application Portal enables users at KSB locations around the world to access the
applications of the central KSB CTX Farm at KSB AG (Germany). Access is available at all
locations that are connected to the central data network of KSB AG (Germany).
To gain access, it is necessary to install the Citrix client software (see Annex for
instructions). It is not necessary to install other KSB applications on the end user's
computer.
Access security is ensured by means of Windows ID login data, which is centrally
managed at and provided by KSB AG. The purpose of this measure is to provide secure
access and a safe working environment, as well as to protect the infrastructure of KSB
AG (Germany) from unauthorised access attempts.
The target group is KSB locations and (in exceptional cases) external service providers
who are connected to the KSB CTX Farm as part of the KSB IT Core Service Scenario. For
details about the KSB IT Core Service Scenario, please consult the central KSB intranet.
When accessing from other continents, the long signal propagation delays can lead to
slow response times, although this does not affect the application's functional
capabilities.
1.2
Conditions of Use
The KSB Application Portal may only be used for work-related purposes.
All IDs at KSB are unique and restricted to individual personnel. It is not permitted to
share the use of IDs with other users. It is forbidden to pass IDs on to third parties.
All passwords are personal. They must be kept confidential and may not be disclosed to
third parties.
In the event of misuse, operational disruptions and/or process malfunctions resulting
from improper use of the system, the central IT department of KSB AG (Germany) is
entitled to inform the HR department responsible and, if necessary, the Works Council.
In the event of abuse of these conditions of use, KSB AG (Germany) is entitled to revoke
the user's permission to use the Portal.

What Is the Purpose of This User Guide?
This user guide describes how users can access the applications of the KSB CTX Farm at
KSB AG (Germany) via the KSB Application Portal, how to install the necessary access
software and how to seek help and assistance.
Users at the following KSB locations are currently permitted to use this access:

2. Prerequisite
2.1
Installed Clients
The KSB CTX Farm applications themselves do not need to be installed on your PC in
order to use them.
Citrix Online Plug-in (Web) from Citrix Systems, Inc. serves as the interface. This client
software also controls the functions that are needed when using printers.
An additional software product for printing (previously ThinPrint from Cortado) is no
longer necessary.
The operating systems supported are Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 and
Windows 8.
Detailed instructions for installation can be found in the Annex. The client versions
specified as standard at KSB are available to you for downloading at
http://applicationportal.emea.ksb.intern.
These software products should usually be installed by your local IT department.
2.2
DNS or Host File
Access to the KSB Application Portal is provided via https Web sites with certificate
security.
To ensure that these https Web sites work correctly, the name resolution of your PC must
be able to correctly resolve the system names of the central Portal servers. For this, you
have two options:
DNS Forwarding
If you operate a DNS server of your own at your location, KSB AG (Germany) provides
the opportunity to call up this name resolution on a central DNS server in Germany.
For this purpose, please set up the "DNS Forwarding" function on your DNS server. The
IP addresses of the central DNS servers at KSB AG (Germany) needed for this are:
10.213.8.172 / 10.213.8.243
Now, your client PC first checks at your local DNS server whether the name can be
resolved. If your local DNS server does not have this information, it can obtain it by
inquiring at the central DNS server and forwarding it to the client PC.
This method has the advantage that changes to the central server structure, for
example, IP addresses or server names, will no longer require adaptations at your
location in future. The modified information is provided via the central DNS servers.

Local Name Resolution
If you are unable to use the option of central name resolution via DNS forwarding, you
must provide the name resolution locally at your location.
The following name resolutions must therefore be stored in the local hosts file of your PC
or on the DNS server of your location:

The settings and installations described in this section should

3. Starting Applications
3.1
Starting

Open your Internet Explorer and
navigate to this page:
http://applicationportal.emea.ksb.intern
On this Web page, you will find up-to-date information, a software and
documentation download area, as well as a link to the input page for your
access data.

Left-click the link "Click here to log in".
(3)
Enter your access ID ("User name:") and the corresponding password
("Password:").
Your central EMEA.KSB.INTERN domain Windows account is your access
ID.

All your applications are now displayed, arranged in folders. To open a
folder, simply click it with your left mouse button.

Within a folder, you will see the icons for various applications. To start an
application, click the corresponding icon.

3.2
Drive Concept
When you work in the KSB CTX Farm, the drives available to you are different from those
you are used to on your PC:
Local drives are denoted by a suffixed "$" sign.
C$, D$ and E$ (where they exist) are the local drives on your PC or notebook. These are
assigned the drive letters V:, W: and X:.
P: is the central program drive for the KSB CTX Farm.
R:, T: and U: are the standard drives for storing files centrally (departments, projects
and users).
Y: is a drive that is necessary for using the KSB CTX Farm (TS-Homes). Users should not
store, delete or modify data here. This drive is needed for system purposes only.

4. Printing
All printers that are available locally on your PC or notebook are provided automatically
in the KSB CTX Farm. This function is made possible with the current version of the Citrix
client software.
There is no special management of printers under Citrix.
The standard printer on the client also becomes the standard printer in the Citrix session.
The name of the printer within the Citrix
session corresponds with the name on your
PC. However, the name of the PC (here:
DEFTWD0435) and a session number (here:
1) are also added to the name as additional
information.
If you wish to access the printer settings,
only the settings of the Citrix universal
printer driver are initially displayed. In a
second step, however, you have full
access to all settings for the actual
printer driver in question by navigating
to "Local settings".

5. Annex
5.1
How to Obtain Support in the Event of Problems
Should you have any questions or problems relating to the KSB CTX Farm or an
application, you can always contact the KSB IT Service Desk by phone to request
support.
Please do not send personal e-mails to individual people as your query will probably
remain unanswered if that individual is absent, ill or on a training course or holiday. The
KSB IT Service Desk is always the quickest way to obtain support.
The KSB Service Desk provides its service in English, German and French, and it can be
reached by phone from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. CET until 6 p.m. CET.

Converting the times for other KSB locations around the world can vary due to daylight saving time and time zone changes.
At any other time, you will be able to record your query as a message on a telephone
answering machine.

Alternatively, you can submit a written report of your
incident in the KSB IT Service Portal.
You will find the KSB IT Service Portal on the central KSB
intranet under "KSB platforms".
The tasks performed by the KSB AG IT department are management, strategic planning
and system responsibility. The actual operation and troubleshooting activities are
outsourced to various IT service providers.
Please be aware that employees from the companies Hewlett Packard (HP) or Atos might
contact you to solve your problem.

5.2
How to Access the KSB Application Portal
To access the KSB Internet Application Portal, you require the following:

A KSB EMEA Windows account
The assignment of program icons in the KSB CTX Farm.
As an employee of KSB, you request these services via the KSB IT Service Portal on the
KSB intranet or using your key user.
External users, for example, those at service providers, gain access via the contact
person responsible at KSB.

Which Applications Are Available via the KSB Application Portal?
A list of the applications available via the KSB Application Portal can be found in the
Download Area of the following website: http://applicationportal.emea.ksb.intern.
5.4
What Costs Are Incurred When Using the KSB Application Portal?
No costs are incurred for using the KSB Application Portal itself.
However, a monthly charge rate is incurred in internal clearing for providing the EMEA
Windows account and the assigned program icons in the KSB CTX Farm.
These items can also be used in other application scenarios though.
The charge rates are published on the KSB intranet.

5.5
Changing Your Windows or Citrix Password
You must change your Windows or Citrix password at regular intervals.
You will be reminded about this procedure when you log in well before your password
expires. You can change your password directly in this dialogue box.
When choosing your password, please observe the specifications in the "Windows
Password Requirements at KSB" document. You will find this document in the Download
Area of the following Web site: http://applicationportal.emea.ksb.intern.
You may also change your password in the "Settings" menu item on the KSB Application
Portal.
Here, choose "Change Password" and follow the instructions.
If you encounter problems accessing the KSB Application Portal after changing your
password, please contact the KSB IT Service Desk directly.
The KSB IT Service Desk will generally be able to rectify your password problem
immediately over the telephone.

5.6
Installing the Citrix Client Software
The latest version of the Citrix client software bears the manufacturer's name "Citrix
Online Plug-in (Web)". Version 12.1.44.1 is set as the standard for KSB.
Please check regularly at the Web site http://applicationportal.emea.ksb.intern to see
whether a more recent version has since been determined.
You will find the required installation file in the "Download Area" of the following Web
site: http://applicationportal.emea.ksb.intern.
Simply install the client on your PC. No special configuration is necessary.
Any existing older versions of the Citrix client software will be uninstalled automatically
during this procedure.
