This pattern draft even accommodates difficult-to-fit bodies, such as the mature and plus size figures. The keys to couture fit, such as various waist slopes, crotch depths, pant balance, and overall crotch formulas will be demonstrated. Various pant styles will be shown. This will include fashion jeans; elastic, pleated and tucked waistlines, yokes shapes, legging styles, cuff formulas, pocket details and zipper treatments. But that’s not all; Connie will demonstrate several sewing techniques that are used in the fashion industry today that will make your sewing more professional, efficient, enjoyable, and satisfying. Saturday, June 4, 2011– 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM $120.00 Limit 30 Students Couture Fit Through Draping, Fitting and Patternmaking -- Prerequisite Class for BLOUSE FITTINGS Connie will teach you the building blocks in fitting and designing your own blouses, dresses or jackets. She will present critical information that is missing from the domestic sewing market. Using a power point presentation and several patterns from her Butterick pattern line, Connie will demonstrate draping and fitting techniques to achieve a true-to-the body fit! Key areas will be shown, such as correct body balance, armhole formulas, sleeve adjustments, various types of darts, and cup sizes. Special design features will be covered, including princess seams, yokes, neckline shapes, lapels, and collars. Whether you are a size 2 or 52, join Connie for this workshop and discover the most important concepts for proper couture fit and patternmaking! This program gives you a learning experience that you will use over and over again. You must call for an appointment time. Personal Blouse Fittings -- Cost: $125 Connie will be providing personal fittings for a custom blouse block. This block can be used to make various blouses, dresses, vests and jackets. See prerequisite in the program descriptions. Custom Dress forms – Cost: $150 (includes supplies) Two of Connie’s Certified Specialist, Rosebud and Laura Wyatt, will wrap you in layers of tape to make a truly custom dress form. See prerequisite in the program descriptions. Personal Pant Fitting – Cost: $125 Connie’s Certified Specialist, Rosebud, will be providing personal fittings for a custom pant block. This block can be used to make various pant styles. See prerequisite in the program descriptions.
