PLEASE HAVE YOUR PRESENTATIONS READY
(“Bid” presentations will be right after lunch on the Saturday of the Pre-Conference Assembly)
Criteria for Hosting January and May Area 78 Committee Meetings
The requirements for these meetings are as follows:
 All venues for closed and open meetings must take in to account wheel chair accessibility
(Motion September 2011 Assembly)
 At least 50 hotel rooms need to be available for Committee Officers and District Committee
Members
 For Friday evening and Saturday until 5:00 pm, a meeting room is needed that will hold
approximately 60 persons, equipped with a microphone, head table and eight to ten additional
tables for displays. This meeting room does not have to be in a hotel; it can be located (for
example) in a community centre, school, local auditorium, recreation center, church
 For Friday evening and Saturday until 5:00 pm an additional meeting room is required that will
seat 20 people, boardroom style if possible
 Coffee and meal facilities (provide meals or supply locations of eating establishments)
Please come prepared with costs for the facility rental, hotel room rates, etc. You might wish to make a
verbal presentation or perform a skit, song, or anything else that you think will persuade us! However,
please keep the presentation to approximately 10 minutes (MAXIMUM)
Area 78 budgets approximately $700 per year for each Area Committee Meeting to cover appropriate
expenditures for facility rental, equipment, food, and coffee. There is no expectation or requirement for
a district to incur expenses for hosting the Area Committee Meeting.
There is a session on Saturday afternoon to answer the “Sharing Session” question for the purpose of
involving local Alcoholics Anonymous members in the process of service. Please ensure that the
members in your District know that they are welcome to attend this session without registration cost.

65th Annual General Service Conference
The theme of the 65th General Service Conference, April 26 – May 2, 2015,
is “Celebrating 80 Years of Recovery, Unity and Service – The Foundation
for our Future”
1. How is our group/district/area attracting alcoholics from different backgrounds?
2. How does your group handle an uncomfortable encounter with another member?
3. Are we careful to preserve the anonymity of our group members and other AAs
outside the meeting rooms? What about social media?
