SMORES 1 SMORES Sophomore Honorary 2015 -‐ 2016 Application We are currently looking to recruit the next class of exceptional sophomores who will carry on the legacy of S.M.O.R.E.S. Sophomore Honorary, which means exhibiting Scholarship, Motivation, Outstanding-‐Respectability, Excellence, and Service. SMORES is an honorary exclusive to upcoming sophomores who are looking to not only remain active on campus but also meet new people and make life-‐long friendships. What is SMORES? SMORES is a philanthropy-‐based organization that focuses on bettering the University and community through philanthropic service and by participating in campus-‐wide activities all year round. Through that service, SMORES betters itself while simultaneously creating a family. This family consists of 28 academically outstanding students who pride themselves on active involvement, leadership, and character. The 28 members of this honorary represent a deck of cards, consisting only of the heart and diamond suits. Each member earns a letterman embroidered with a specific card that carries a unique legacy. What is an Honorary? We like to describe it as a crossover between Greek life and student council, in that it combines the family element of the Greeks with the involvement and integrity of student government. Essentially, it is a club on campus that is only as good as the members within it. Now… do you have what it takes to be a SMORE?
