Water Stops
CAGF being a cycling touring event allows for cyclists to stop at various location along the
route for their rehydration needs.
The Tanks for Hire portable water tank will be located at the Cycling Tent City adjacent to
the National Australia Bank along Jull St Mall for the duration of the event.
As CAGF 40 is a community ride distance there are no water stops along the way and
participants are advised to carry two water bottles each. The Safety Vehicle and Sag Wagon
along the route will be carrying water supplies.
CAGF 80 and CAGF 100 will have water stops designated at Connell Avenue which has the
Tanks for Hire portable water tanks located there and managed by Café 2 U. Don’t forget to
get your cuppa there on route! The Connell Avenue stop is approximately 47 km from the
start for both CAGF 80 and CAGF 100.
Churchman Brook car park is another designated water stop area which will be
approximately 75 km distance for CAGF 80 and 95 km distance for CAGF 100.
Safety Vehicles & First Aid
There will be Safety Vehicles and Crew at all of the key intersections along CAGF and roving
First Aid crews. If you have a medical emergency or are in need of assistance either flag
down one of the Safety Vehicles are contact one of the following numbers:

Cafes and Other Stops
CAGF prides itself as one of the only events that directly promotes local infrastructure. To
that extent there are many cafes on route for the event that have been notified of your
attendance.
Garden Tea Rooms along Croydon Road
Genesis on the Hills also along Croydon Road
We suggest that these places will be good stops along the way for you to meet and greet
your friends or family members that wish to support you and making a table booking is also
a wise choice.
The critical stop point for CAGF 80 and CAGF 100 is Connell Avenue which is the
convergence of the Tonkin Highway Bike pathway with Connell Avenue. This sector will
have the presence of the Portable Water Tanks and also Cafe2U.
Drop in at Café 2U at this location for your hot cuppa needs before you recommence the hill
climbs. Don’t forget to bring your EFTPOS card! Mandy and Andy Lynch there are also part
of the Safety Crew and are in communication via 2 way radio to the Event Organisers.

details needed.

Visit Armadale
Visit Armadale is an initiative of the event organisers of the City of Armadale Grand Fondo
for the past 3 years. It signals our intention and desire to promote local infrastructure,
sights, tourism and accommodation in the region. Many cyclists utilise routes through the
regions of Armadale but know little of the rich contribution that it has to the state.
Please support the initiatives of the City of Armadale and all information from places to see,
tourism and accommodation can be found via this link: www.armadalegf.com.au – under
Armadale Info.
KOM / QOM Section – Wallangarra Drive South
Applicable to CAGF 80 & CAGF 100 Distances
Riders vying for the KOM / QOM stage of Wallangarra South should exercise EXTREME
caution during the descent along Admiral Road before the turn off to the LEFT into
Wallangarra Drive. Wallangarra Drive is characterised by a short steep climb up and riders
need to choose their gears properly. Once on this short steep section note that Wallangarra
Drive SOUTH is on your RIGHT. As you turn RIGHT the KOM / QOM section will commence.
Note the KOM Start / KOM End signs which will signify the sector. Follow the traffic
management signs in this area. This segment distance is no more than 500 metres.
Remember that normal WA Road Rules apply as this sector is still OPEN ROAD.
Gardener Road Sprint Section – NORTH
This sector is also for BOTH CAGF 80 and CAGF 100 distances
Do not be deceived by the term ‘sprint’ as this section is specifically designed with a slight
uphill angle (not much but enough!). Remember that this is a two way street and the roads
are OPEN and riders are NOT permitted to overtake more than 2 abreast per road rules
regulation. Follow the Sprint sector signs located along this route and choose your correct
sprinting gears! This sector is characterised by being closer in location to Brookton Hwy.
Gardener Road Sectors North & South are managed by our synergy partners Midland Cycling
Club whom we enjoy a great partnership in events.
Gardener Road NORTH sprint section for CAGF 80 and CAGF 100 riders.
Gardener Road Sprint Section -SOUTH
This Sprint section is ONLY for CAGF 100 riders and once again is location closer to the turn
off at Croydon Road. Once again don’t be deceived by the location because it is NOT a
descent and work on the gears will need to be done in this sector.
Gardener Road Sprint Sector – South –only for CAGF 100 riders
Signature KOM / QOM – Heritage Drive
Also known as the Glen Parker Cycles KOM / QOM
This is the BIG one and for those who have not done Heritage Drive do not be deceived by
the so called lack of climbs in Perth.
Make no mistake that this Signature KOM / QOM is only for CAGF 100 and with a technical
difficulty of 1.8 – will make it harder than the all other rides that Perth has to offer. Make no
doubt about that!
The key word is Technical Hill climb and the discerning rider will use their positioning on the
bike, the correct gears and chain ring to climb with tempo. With 3.6 km in the climb the
intelligent ones will work on cadence and consistency as a sprint will soon cause you to
exhaust your leg power.
Remember Heritage Drive KOM / QOM is ONLY for the CLIMB and not the descent. Riders
who ignore the speed limitations on the descent WILL BE DISQUALIFIED from the rankings as
this event is all about safety and wellness. Your Safety chips will allow event organisers to
monitor this compliance in real time and there will be qualified national cycling coaches
along the route to ensure rider compliance and safety.
Any rider riding dangerously up or down this sector can be removed from the event by the
event officials should they be a threat to others or if their own health is at risk.
Remember that the Araleun Hills are a favourite haunt for kangaroos which also explains
why controlled descents with NO timing is critical here.
At the top of the KOM / Qom sector is a roundabout which is the junction of Heritage Drive
and Country Club road. We strongly suggest that you remove yourself OFF the road and
recover in the roundabout area where there will be hydration resupply for those who need
it!
Glen Parker Cycles KOM / QOM Sector – Heritage Drive – CAGF Signature Climb!
Enervit Active Hydration
The Enervit WA Agency store located outside of Dome Armadale
The Enervit WA Agency is offering ALL CAGF participants 10% off all of their available
products at the point of pick-up of their Participant Packs, while stocks last.
The 10% special is also applicable at the Cycling Tent City before and after the event.
Enervit hydration powder will be supplied Complimentary to participants on route for those
who need it.
Note that Café 2 U Kenwick Maddington is also a authorised Enervit distributor and
products can be purchased at the Connell Ave intersection at normal prices for those who
require them. Complimentary Enervit hydration is located at this sector.
Signage for CAGF
Important that all participants REMEMBER the colour of their nominated ride distance.
RED DIRECTIONAL SIGNS FOR CAGF 40 KM / PICCOLO FONDO
GREEN DIRECTIONAL SIGNS FOR CAGF 80 KM / MEDIO FONDO
BLUE DIRECTIONAL SIGNS FOR CAGF 100 KM / GRAN FONDO
In Summary
This Event Information Guide is a BOOK but it reflects our commitment towards safety and
well-being of participants who do our event. Please take the time to read this as it is
compulsory reading for your well-being and that of other road users. I wish each of you the
very best for CAGF 2105 and ask that you look after each other and other fellow riders
before, during and after the event. Please make an effort to stay for the Medals and Lucky
Draw prize ceremony at 100 pm at the Cycling Tent City to enjoy the community
atmosphere that we are aiming to foster for all of our cycling events.
Safety in Cycling!
