Dropping the class must be done prior to second class for a refund. There will be $5 processing fee for any refunding request. No credits/pro-rating will be given for late registration or missed classes. Pick Up Procedures: -Day Care students will be walked to Day Care by a Bricks 4 Kidz instructor. -Parents need to come and pick up students in the designated dismissal area. Students will not be allowed to go out to parents waiting in cars, all parents need to come and check out their child. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) Week 1 Life Science, Kinder – 8th grade th th July 6 – 10 , 1:30pm – 3:00pm, Fee $89 Explore the fascinating science of living things and build engaging models of creatures from caterpillars to dinosaurs. During this week unit, students will explore topics such as how the human body stays cool, the amazing life cycle of a butterfly, and investigate the Venus Fly Trap -- a plant that eats bugs! If you love creatures, this is the class for you. Week 2 Remote Control Mania, Kinder – 8th grade th th July 13 – 17 , 1:30pm – 3:00pm, Fee $89 With the use of New LEGO® wireless remote controls, this exciting class will inspire students to learn about kinetic and potential energy, force, magnetism, compression, balance, and wind power. As they build with some of the most fascinating Lego components ever created, students also learn how to magnify, diminish, and redirect force to move objects in different directions. Through the construction of vehicles, machines, and other dynamic creations, the campers will understand the working principles of numerous innovative and ingenious inventions that are now part of our daily lives. Week 3 Junior Robotics, Kinder – 8th grade th th July 20 – 24 , 1:30pm – 3:00pm, Fee $89 How would you like to turn your next LEGO creation into a robot, programmed to do exactly what you tell it to do? The Bricks 4 Kidz new Junior Robotics camp offers all the fun of building with LEGO bricks, PLUS the challenge of computer programming! Using drag-and-drop icon-based software, WeDo software provides an introduction into the world of computer-programming and robotics that will equip children to succeed in a technology-based marketplace. This fun, action-packed week combines real-life skills with real-kid fun! Week 4 & 5 Stop Motion Animation, 2nd – 8th grade th st rd th July 27 – 31 & August 3 – 7 , 1:30pm - 3:00pm, Fee $178 Stop motion is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence. In the class, we will explore this technique by using LEGO® bricks and mini figures to create the movie. Week 6 Space Adventures, Kinder – 5th grade th th August 10 – 14 , 1:30pm - 3:00pm, Fee $89 Inspired by NASA and Star Wars™, our Space Adventures Camp is packed full of models that will make your imagination blast off! Each day, campers will learn about real-life space exploration and build models related to the NASA space program. In addition, the day includes LEGO Star Wars™ themed models, video games, group games, challenges and more. Bricks 4 Kidz Space Adventure camp provides the spark for imagination and creativity to take off on an adventure that's out of this world! Week 7 Minecraft, Kinder – 8th grade th st August 17 – 21 , 1:30pm – 3:00pm, Fee $89 Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night monsters come out, make sure to build a shelter before that happens. Experience the world of Minecraft with LEGO® bricks in this fun class! Kids will start by crafting their shelters and some of the mobs, critters and tools. Campers will face new challenges each day, building motorized Bricks 4 Kidz models and crafting key elements (with LEGO® bricks) from the Minecraft game.
