In collaboration with the CUIS PROJECT 2014 ‘Philosophers and books of Terra d'Otranto between the
Byzantine-Greek heritage and the cultural ferment of the Renaissance, inventory of philosophical texts,
manuscripts and printings of Terra d'Otranto (XIII-XVI)’
and in collaboration with the A.R.T.E.S. GRADUATE SCHOOL OF THE HUMANITIES COLOGNE
The EGSAMP international summer school 2015 is devoted to the topic »Moral Agency and its
Constraints: Fate Determinism and Free Will in the Middle Ages«, and will take place 31st August - 5th
September 2015 in Castro in Puglia, Italy.
This summer school, organized by the CENTRO PER L’EDIZIONE DI TESTI FILOSOFICI MEDIEVALI E
RINASCIMENTALI CETEFIL, Università del Salento, opens with a conference devoted to the general
theme of moral agency and its constraints, followed by a summer school, where PhD students and
Postdoc fellows can presents their PhD and research projects. Participants will have the
opportunity to present their ongoing research, enhance their competence in the various fields of
editing and analysing philosophical texts and get helpful feedback regarding their projects by
internationally renowned scholars.
PhD students and Postdocs interested in taking part in the summer school are invited to send a CV
and a short abstract (max. 300 words) of their proposed paper by June 25st. The papers may not
exceed twenty minutes.
Participants will enjoy free accomodation and meals. Moreover, a limited number of travel stipends
can be provided by EGSAMP and by the S.I.E.P.M.
