EvilleCon 2012 Official Program Guide March 30 – April 1

EvilleCon 2012
“Not So Evil After All”
Official Program Guide
March 30th – April 1st, 2012
at the Evansville Airport Holiday Inn
Evansville, Indiana
Welcome to
EvilleCon 2012
It’s the Year of the Dragon. Be on the lookout for one of those mystical beasts. Who
knows? Maybe you’ll see one dancing. Wouldn't that be.. wait for it.. legendary?
And now, who are the cute characters on the
front of the program (We assumed you would
ask ^_^)? Well, they are this year’s mascots.
EvilleCon 2012 would like to introduce you to
Ryu and Luuluu. They are ready to enjoy this
year’s events with you and be Minions too.
Make sure you guard your pocky if Ryu comes
near. He loves them and will make off with a
few of yours if you’re not careful. Luuluu tries
to keep Ryu in check, but he just can’t be
stopped sometimes. See, we’re “not so evil”
after all. We did give you a warning.
So come enjoy EvilleCon 2012 with Ryu and Luuluu. This Program is full of information
on all that EvilleCon 2012 has to offer. It can answer any questions you may have, as
will any EvilleCon Staff or Minion (volunteer).
Did you know we are currently planning for EvilleCon 2013? Please see an EvilleCon
Staff Member near the Minion Lair and ask about how to be a Minion (volunteer) next
year.

off of the ZOD group in Shane Moore’s end of
days zombie novel "The Apocalypse of
Enoch."
There are two main chapters (the group has
been running for just over two months). One
chapter is in Springfield, Missouri with around 60 members and two ZERVs
(zombie fighting apocalyptic vehicles). The IL chapter--also known as ZOD
command has three ZERVS and over 100 members.

earn money for a charity while at EvilleCon. For more information about ZOD,

EvilleCon Lounge
Need a break? A place to sit down and talk over the events you’ve been to or
plan the rest of your day? Or maybe you just want to get to know some new
friends? How about visiting the EvilleCon Lounge? EvilleCon Lounge will have
not only tables and chairs to gather around but some “old school” games.
You know the kind where you have to actually shuffle the cards yourself… If
you’re too young to remember those days, find an “ancient” con-goer to
teach you.
Come relax or challenge a friend in EvilleCon Lounge (behind Artist Alley and
ZOD).
Historical trivia: Did you know that EvilleCon started with Evansville Vanderburgh Public
Library and a small group of anime fans? It did. And out of the small group of anime fans
came EvilleCon (Year 0). That group with the help of EVPL launched into Evansville Anime
Convention, Inc. (EAC, Inc.), who took on the task of bringing EvilleCon back annually. EAC,
Inc. and the staff of EvilleCon would like to thank EVPL for bringing EvilleCon into existence
and being a supporter of our convention.

Special Guests
Eric Vale is going to take over the world. Actually, he’s just an actor who
has spent a lot of time under lock and key in sound booths voicing anime
characters such as Trunks in Dragon Ball Z, America and Canada in
Hetalia: Axis Powers, Sanji in One Piece, Yuki in Fruits Basket, and
Kymblee in Fullmetal Alchemist among many others. Eric has also spent
time as an ADR director in addition to scripting over fifty anime programs
as Head Writer with FUNimation Productions. Outside of the world of
anime, Eric has written, produced, and directed three short films, written
stories (published), screenplays (sold but unproduced), and acted in film
and TV. As you can see, one should not trifle with Eric Vale. On the
weekends, he travels back in time to right the wrongs of the past, build
playgrounds for children, repairs ancient churches in Europe, and crafts
your destiny with his buddies the Illuminati.
Micah Solusod is a newbie voice actor in the world of anime. He
made his debut in 2009 playing Malek Werner in Blassreiter and
Soul Evans in Soul Eater shortly after. Since then, Micah has
moved on to provide voices for a number of characters in other
FUNimation titles such as Tsutomu Senkawa in Birdy the Mighty:
Decode, Kamui and Subaru in Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations, Haruki
Hishida in Rideback, Ushijima Hiroshige in Corpse Princess, and
various characters in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Black
Butler II, Darker Than Black: Gemini of the Meteor, Sgt. Frog,
Bamboo Blade, Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, Baka and Test,
and more.
Currently, Micah can be heard in the gaming arena as the voice of
Max in Atari’s Centipede: Infestation and Naoki Mizutani in the
Jisei murder mystery series.
Shane Moore is one of the top writers in Dark Fantasy. In 2008
he retired a highly-decorated police detective to write full time
based solely on the success of his Abyss Walker world. The
Abyss Walker franchise has branched out into novels from
other renowned writers, graphic novels, short stories, novellas,
a cookbook, an iPad tower defense game, a role playing game
for 2012, and a music soundtrack by Ari Lehman and much
more to come. He has been featured in dozens of large
newspaper articles, magazines, radio, TV, morning shows, and has been a celebrity guest at over
two hundred science fiction fantasy conventions.
Shane toured little in 2011, taking on fourteen contracts for projects, including his genre smashing
end of days novel; “The Apocalypse of Enoch.” This block buster of a zombie thriller features a
scripture-based apocalypse with in depth guidance from pastors, doctors, and a molecular
biologist. With every character in the novel being a person in real life, Shane inserted his
professional peers into this rapidly destructing zombie armageddon based in St. Louis, Missouri. Be
sure to attend his panels to learn how he flipped the zombie genre on its head without reinventing the monsters we loved and how he tossed in celebrities such as Peter Mayhew
(Chewbacca from Star Wars), Pete Koch (Former NFLer and actor who played Swede from
Heart Break Ridge), fan favorite Matt Hill (Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and
Shanghai Knights with Jackie Chan) and many, many more!
A retired triple-A record holding, semi-pro football linebacker, Shane does not look like the
stereotype you might assign a writer. However, if you speak with him at length, he will assure
you he is a dork on the inside. With EvilleCon hosting the launch of his newest fantasy hit
“White Wrath,” about a young minotaur that runs away from his abusive parents with a
teenage girl from a nearby human village, this is one writer you can’t miss!
“Synchro-Hearts” is the name for Ex-Shadow and
Malindachan (Kyle and Malinda Mathis) as a Cosplay
couple. They are members of a larger group, “We *Heart*
Card Games,” but this is their personal alias for reference
in Cosplay and attending Anime Conventions.
Kyle and Malinda Mathis are married and have been
Cosplaying since 2004, and it became their favorite hobby
in 2007 after they started attending conventions together.
They have continued to take on new challenges with each
project, continuing to delve into the arts of costume
construction, wig styling, prop making, and mascot work.
Malindachan especially loves wig styling and cosplaying
from the YU-GI-OH! franchise, but she has also cosplayed
from a large variety of other series’ and games. Ex-Shadow
has a large wardrobe of YU-GI-OH! cosplay work, but his
favorites are his Jack Skellington, Vash the Stampede, and
his original designs for the King and Queen of Hearts. He is
starting to work more on Mascot costumes.
Over the years Kyle and Malinda have won multiple awards for their cosplay craftsmanship and
performances and have been published in Cosmode, Otacool2, CosplayGen, and Cosplay in
America. Recently Kyle placed 2nd in the North American Otaku House Cosplay Idol contest,
and Malinda was featured in Shonen Jump for a combination of her YU-GI-OH! Cosplays and
Artwork.
To Kyle and Malinda, Cosplay is not only an art, but a community. They treasure the friendships
that they have made through Cosplaying, and continue to welcome fellow Cosplayers as friends.
They believe that Cosplay is the right to anyone who wants to give it a try, regardless of their
gender, race, or body type. They continue to support the Cosplay community and promote it to
all who would take interest.

EvilleCon assumes no liability for accidental injury or damage to personal property during the convention.
Attendance of the convention constitutes consent to the use of the attendee’s image or likeness in any future
advertising, recording, transmission, or reproduction of EvilleCon and consent to ejection without refund for failure
to comply with the rules stated herein.
Attendees will not be disruptive or disrespectful to fellow attendees, special guests, vendors, artists, staff, or
volunteers. Disruptive behavior is not allowed, and includes running, yelling, playing loud music, horseplay, flying
radio-controlled helicopters, unsolicited physical contact, or any other behavior deemed disruptive or disrespectful
by convention staff.
Hallways, aisles, and doorways must be kept clear at all times. Attendees obstructing the flow of traffic may be
asked to clear the area. If you would like to stand and talk with friends, take photos, or show off your vendor hall
purchases, that’s great! But we ask that you do so out of the way of convention traffic.
Smoking, drugs, and alcohol are prohibited in the convention and in the general areas of the hotel. See Drug &
Alcohol Policy for more information.
Rollerblades, skates, skateboards, scooters, heelies, and bicycles are prohibited in the convention center and in the

Revealing costumes are not allowed. If you would not wear your costume in front of your mother, it’s probably not
appropriate to wear to EvilleCon.

destroyed.
The convention shall not be held liable for any lost or stolen belongings. It is recommended that attendees leave
bags, purses, and personal belongings in the attendee’s hotel room or car. If you lose or find an item, please report
it to Lost and Found (at the Registration Desk).
Any props, bags, or other belongings deemed unsafe by EvilleCon Staff will be held in the Staff and Volunteer
Lounge until the end of the day. Items left after the convention will be auctioned to the highest bidder to benefit
next year’s con. Because we cannot guarantee the safety of any item confiscated during the convention, you are
welcome to remove the item to your hotel room or car. A volunteer will escort you out of the convention area and
back.
You may be subject to voluntary search upon entry to the convention and at any time during the convention. If a
staff member suspects that an individual is refusing voluntary search because he or she poses an immediate threat
to a staff member, volunteer, attendee, guest, or hotel employee, the proper authorities will be contacted.
The Evansville Airport Holiday Inn is a hotel. If hotel staff performs a service for you, it is good etiquette to tip the
employee 20% for good service. Please be respectful to hotel staff. The convention site is their property. If you
were at someone’s home and they asked you to take your feet off the coffee table, you would do it. Attendees
should treat hotel staff with the same respect.
Any attendee damaging or defacing hotel property will be liable for repair or replacement of damaged facilities.
Disabled persons, EvilleCon Staff, on-duty Volunteers, special guests, and vendors are not required to stand in line
for entry into any Event Room. If you have any questions, please contact convention security.
