Limited coursing equipment will be available: leads, blankets, etc. Copies of ASFA Historical books will be available for perusal during trial hours. All books and equipment MUST be returned! Also, the most current ASFA rulebook will be available for $4.00. Don’t forget – if you are a SISFA member at the start of the spring trial your hound’s scores will qualify him/her for the SISFA Season Championship. See the enclosed rules. A list of current members will be available at the trial. Memberships will be taken prior to roll call on Saturday at the spring trial. The Season Championship will be run after the trial on Sunday in the fall. Any SISFA officer will gladly accept trophy and raffle donations at any time! Also, if you would like to help with any jobs at the trial please call Judi or Jill. (If you would like to be the Field Secretary or Trial Chairman please let us know at least 6 months in advance. Note, however, that you must be a club member to fill either of these two positions.) Hotel/Motel space in Emmett is very limited – in fact the only motel has been booked for three months! Please call Judi at (208) 841-0595 or Jill at (208) 788-4750 if you need help locating a hotel in the area. A partial list of accommodations that accept pets is included on the back of the directions to the field; check the Internet or the AAA book for Ontario (Oregon), Nampa, Caldwell, Meridian, or Boise for complete listings. Motor homes and camping are welcome on the field – but there will be absolutely NO DUMPING OR FIRES! Also, remember that this is a working ranch and keep the noise to a minimum. We will have coffee and donuts on the field each morning – a donation for these items is appreciated. No lunch will be provided on Sunday except for judges and field staff, but on Saturday we will have a potluck lunch. Please bring your favorite dish. There will also be a potluck dinner on the field Saturday night, SISFA will provide various meats for grilling and cake; plan to bring a salad or rolls, wine or beer, and prepare for a bunch of fun! For those who have attended the impromptu gathering on Friday night, you know this will be fun with GREAT food and company! The field will be set up for free practice runs on Friday around 3 pm, and we will have a judge available at that time for certification runs at $10 per hound certifying. Contact Judi at (208) 841-0595 the week before the trial if you have questions. SISFA will NOT provide bye dogs, so please make sure you have a dog to certify with. There will be no certification runs during the weekend, except as approved by the lure operator, and absolutely NO certification runs will be done during the trial! Practice runs during the weekend will only be done if there are volunteers for field crew (including operator) and ONLY if there is time after the field has been reset. ALL equipment MUST be left in an operable state! And for the last reminder: the weather in Idaho is always unpredictable. Usually in late April it is clear, sunny, and warm (not hot). In late October it is clear, sunny, with crisp mornings and cool afternoons. However, it is always a crapshoot. Will the weather deity favor us this year? Be there and find out, but don’t forget your sunscreen, polar fleece, and rain gear just in case! Please remember the entry for all first-time-entered dogs must include a copy of their current registration, and either a hound certification or a certification waiver. Entries cannot (and will not) be accepted without this! Please note – No entries will be accepted without payment in full and a signature on the entry form. All first time entered dogs in the open, veteran, and limited stakes must have a certification before their entry will be accepted. Please do not send entries for dogs that are not certified – you can turn in your entry after certification. Entries received for uncertified dogs will be returned postage due. First time entered dogs must have a copy of their registration papers attached to their entry. (This requirement is waived for Greyhounds registered with NGA.) First time entered dogs in open, veteran, and limited classes must have a copy of a hound certification or certification waiver (e.g. AKC SC) attached to their entry. The field secretary will not be responsible for the loss of your paperwork. Keep copies for your records!
