IAQA 2016 CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
IAQA has issued a Call for Presentations for its 19th Annual Meeting, to be held at the Loews
Royal Pacific Resort in Orlando, Florida, from January 24 – 27, 2016. Presentations are specifically
requested on: IAQ assessment strategies; moisture measurement in materials; interpretation
of laboratory analytical results; principles of developing a sample strategy; methods and best
practices for IAQ contractors; building sciences; and, interaction with other professionals on
multidisciplinary teams. Presentations are also welcome on other topics related to indoor
environments, including business management topics. Particular emphasis is given to moldrelated presentations, including moisture intrusion, safety, report writing and standards of
practice. Presentations at the IAQA Annual Meeting must be strictly non-commercial. Speakers of
accepted presentations will need to confirm their participation prior to final scheduling.
CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
The deadline for Call for Presentations submittals is June 1, 2015. Persons interested in giving
technical presentations must submit an abstract no more than 400 words in length that gives the
title of the presentation, a brief description of its contents and references cited. Submittals must
also include the speaker’s biography. Presentation times will be 50 minutes in length. Final
selections will be made by IAQA by July 15, 2015, and submitters will be notified by August 1,
2015. Selected speakers will be given complimentary discounted admittance to the Annual
Meeting. Please note that those selected will be required to submit final presentation slides to
IAQA by November 1, 2015. All material presented at IAQA must be substantiated by scientific
literature citations, where available. In subject areas lacking research, presenters shall clearly state
what source(s) the presentation material is based upon or note that the presentation is based on
their experience. Written permission must be obtained for any copywritten material used in
conjunction with the submitted presentation. Presenters must clearly declare any competing
interests at the beginning of their presentation.
CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS
Conference training workshops 4 hours in length will be included in the 2016 conference
program. IAQA is seeking abstract submittals for these workshops as well. These workshops
should provide advanced training in the theory and practice of a topic relevant to indoor air
quality, including HVAC and building science. Proposals will be considered for both basic and
advanced workshops, though there is a preference for advanced workshops. Proposals should
include: a) Statement of Need; b) specific learning objectives; and, c) an outline of the subject
material. The source of all material presented at IAQA must be identified as described above
(personal experience, published literature or other source) and declaration made of any
competing interests. The deadline for submittals is no later than June 1, 2015.
