EDspaces Educational Conference Call for Presentations AN INVITATION TO YOU The Education Market Association is calling upon industry professionals to share their knowledge and business expertise through teaching. We’re looking for engaging presentations that inform our attendees about proven practices, push the leading edge of the profession, and motivate the pursuit of excellence. You are invited to submit a session proposal for presentation at EDspaces, October 29-31, 2014, Tampa, FL. ABOUT EDSPACES EDspaces is the ONLY international tradeshow and conference that brings together all the key professionals who plan, design and manage innovative learning environments with the dealers, service providers and manufacturers who support them. EDspaces attendees include buyers from school districts, colleges & universities from across the country; dealers of all types; architects and designers. Products exhibited at the show include, but are not limited to, equipment for classrooms, offices & libraries, seating for auditorium and gyms, recreational supplies, school signage, computer hardware and software, audiovisual equipment, and consulting services. Non-commercial Nature of EDmarket's Education Program To maintain the educational integrity of the education program, presenters are advised not to use their session(s) as a platform for promotion of their products and services, or for monetary gain. EDmarket provides a unique forum for professionals to have an open dialogue and a creative exchange of ideas free from commercial content. Complimentary Registration Speakers who are selected to present in the Education Conference will be provided with complimentary registration to attend education sessions and the exhibit floor. SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS All submissions must be received by April 30, 2014. Please prepare and send your information in a Word document, and include the following information: o Speaker Name, Designations, Title, Company and Full Contact Information o Presentation title (Maximum of 100 characters including spaces) o Presentation description (Maximum of 2000 characters including spaces) o Three (3) Learning Objectives for the session o Co-presenter information (if any) for up to three speakers, including Full Name, Designation(s), Title, Company, and e-mail addresses o Delivery Method - Clearly state how you will deliver your presentation and include how you will engage your audience (i.e. video, special sounds, additional visuals, etc.) o Target Audience o Marketing Method - how will you help market your presentation? Select at least one: Facebook, Twitter, Blogging, or other. Please include the link/hashtag for your preferred marketing method Email your submission to Samantha LeSesne, Meetings Manager, at [email protected]. Submissions must include all requested information and must be submitted by Wednesday April 30, 2014. You will have the ability to modify your submission once it has been approved. The EDspaces Education Committee The EDspaces Planning Committee consists of members that are recognized industry leaders with many years of industry experience as well as representatives from EDspaces partner organizations. The Review/Selection Process The selection process involves a review of every complete presentation submitted prior to the deadline. All presentations are selected on the basis of the information submitted. Those submitting are expected to follow all instructions carefully and provide all requested information. Incomplete submissions will not be considered. Please note, more presentations are submitted than can be accepted. Selection Criteria Presentation submissions are evaluated on the following criteria: o Presentation submission was submitted on time o Session learning level is appropriate for the audience and topic o Identification of three learning objectives o Presentation is designed to encourage high audience interaction/participation by incorporating multiple interactive strategies to engage participants such as, facilitated delivery with high participant involvement, peer-to-peer components, large and small group discussions, participant brainstorming components, and participant involvement in case study analyses o Content is focused, current, practical or innovative as it relates to the educational marketplace industry o Clear and concise organization of ideas and clearly written learner outcomes Notification EDMARKET will notify all speakers of an accepted or declined presentation via e-mail. Notifications to all those who submitted will be made on or before Friday, May 16, 2014. If selected: o Presenter may be asked to conduct a webinar prior to or following EDspaces. o Session may be streamed live, video-recorded or audio-taped. o Full Session needs to be between 60 minutes and 75 minutes in length (this includes introduction, presentation and question and answer). o EDMARKET does not produce printed session handouts for attendees. Presenters are requested to submit handout information in advance for posting on EDmarket’s website. o Presenters are required to bring their own laptop (if needed for presentation), as well as a backup flash drive containing presentation. Additional A/V equipment will be provided by EDMARKET, subject to approval. o Presentation slides must be turned in to Samantha LeSesne by Friday October 17, 2014.
