Quilt Cutting Instructions
Please note: all strips are cut across the width of fabric (WOF)
from selvage to selvage edge.
From the Blocks (A), cut:
• Fussy cut (16) 7 ½” squares
From the Flowers - Red (B), cut:
• (1) 11 ½” x width of fabric (WOF) strip. Sub-cut the strip into (16) 2 ½” x 11 ½” strips.
From the Flowers - Teal (C), cut:
• (1) 9 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (16) 2 ½” x 9 ½” strips.
From the Plaid - Cream (D), cut:
• (1) 9 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (16) 2 ½” x 9 ½” strips.
From the Animal Tracks - Brown (E), cut:
• (1) 7 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (16) 2 ½” x 7 ½” strips.
From the Acorns - Teal (F), cut:
• (1) 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (8) 3 ½” x 4 ½” strips.
From the Characters - Red (G), cut:
• (1) 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (8) 3 ½” squares.
From the Animal Tracks - Green (H), cut:
• (1) 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (8) 3 ½” x 4 ½” strips.
From the Flowers - Gold (I), cut:
• (1) 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (8) 3 ½” x 4 ½” strips.
From the Acorns - Gold (J), cut:
• (1) 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (8) 3 ½” x 4 ½” strips.
From the Herringbone - Green (K) cut:
• (3) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together, end to end, and cut (2) 2 ½” x 56 ½” strips.
• (3) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together, end to end, and cut (2) 2 ½” x 48 ½” strips.
From the Characters - Teal (L), cut:
• (1) 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (8) 3 ½” squares.
• (4) 4 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together, end to end, and cut (2) 4 ½” x 60 ½” strips.
• (3) 4 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together, end to end, and cut (2) 4 ½” x 56 ½” strips.
From the Herringbone - Red (M), cut:
• (7) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.
From the Acorns - Brown (Backing), cut:
• (2) 64” x WOF strips. Piece the strips together and trim to make the 64” x 76” backing.

• Fussy cut (6) quilt blocks 6 ½” square
From the Animal Tracks - Brown (B), cut:
• (2) 2 ½” x width of fabric (WOF) strips. Sub-cut the strips into (8) 2 ½” x 7 ½” strips and (2) 2 ½” squares.
From the Acorns - Teal (C), cut:
• (1) 9 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into (8) 2 ½” x 9 ½” strips and (2) 2 ½” squares.

Quilt Sewing Instructions
1. Sew (1) 7 ½” Fabric A square, (1) 2
½” x 7 ½” Fabric E strip, (1) 2 ½” x 9 ½”
Fabric D strip, (1) 2 ½” x 9 ½” Fabric C
strip and (1) 2 ½” x 11 ½” Fabric B strip
to make one log cabin block. Repeat to
make sixteen log cabin blocks (Fig. 1)

2. Sew (1) 3 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric F strip, (1)
3 ½” Fabric G square and (1) 3 ½” x 4 ½”
Fabric H strip together to make (1) 3 ½”
x 11 ½” F/G/H strip. Repeat to make (8)
F/G/H strips total.
3. Sew (1) F/G/H strip to the bottom of
(1) log cabin block to make (1) Block One
(Fig. 2). Repeat to make (8) Block Ones
total.
4. Sew (1) 3 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric I strip, (1)
3 ½” Fabric L square and (1) 3 ½” x 4 ½”
Fabric J strip together to make (1)
3 ½” x 11 ½” I/L/J strip. Repeat to make
(8) I/L/J strips total.
6. Refer to the quilt photo to sew four
blocks together to make one row. Repeat
to make four rows. Sew the rows together
to make the quilt top.
Runner Sewing Instructions
1. Refer to Figure 4 and runner photo to sew together (1) 7 ½”
Fabric A square, (1) 2 ½” x 7 ½” Fabric B strip, (1) 2 ½” x 9 ½”
Fabric D strip, (1) 2 ½” x 9 ½” Fabric C strip and (1) 2 ½” x 11
½” Fabric E strip to make one log cabin block. Repeat to make
four Block Ones and four Block Twos.

2. Refer to the runner photo for block placement to sew the (4)
Block Ones and (4) Block Twos together to make the runner top.
Pay close attention to the orientation of the blocks.

5. Sew (1) I/L/J strip to the top of (1) log
cabin block to make (1) Block Two
(Fig. 3). Repeat to make (8) Block Twos
total.

7. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 56 ½” Fabric K strip to each side of the quilt
top. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 48 ½” Fabric K strip to the top and bottom of
the quilt top.
3. Sew (22) assorted 2 ½” squares together to make (1) scrappy
strip. Repeat to make a second scrappy strip. Sew the strips to
the top and bottom of the runner top.
4. Follow Runner Photo and sew (3) 6 ½” Fabric A quilt blocks,
(4) 2 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric F strips and (2) 2 ½” x 26 ½” Fabric F
strips together to make one end block. Repeat to make a second
end block. Sew one end block to each end of the runner top.
Finishing Instructions
5. Layer and quilt each project as desired.
6. Sew the binding strips together, end to end with 45º seams,
to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with
wrong sides together and press.
7. Bind as desired.
8. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 60 ½” Fabric L strip to each side of the quilt
top. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 56 ½” Fabric L strip to the top and bottom of
the quilt top.
Finishing Instructions
9. Layer and quilt each project as desired.
10. Sew the binding strips together, end to end with 45º seams,
to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with
wrong sides together and press.
11. Bind as desired.
