The Eastern Kentucky University Interpreter Outreach Program proudly presents “Daily Dilemmas: Ethical Decision Making in K-12 and Community Based Settings” Presented by Amy Seiberlich May 18, 2015 6:00 – 9:00 pm ONLINE WEBINAR Professional Development Session: This workshop provides participants an opportunity to dialogue about common daily occurrences in K-12 and community based settings that we might consider "ethical dilemmas." We begin with an examination of Dean and Pollard’s Demand-Control Schema (DC-S), with a specific focus on the concepts of meta-ethical principles, teleological ethics, demands, controls, and liberal and conservative ethical decisions. Participants will then apply the DC-S construct to a variety of hypothetical ethical dilemmas from both K-12 and community based settings. As we all know, there are no black and white answers to the daily questions we face in the classroom and in the community so come prepared to discuss relevant "dilemmas" with your peers! This workshop utilizes a variety of instructional methods including lecture and group discussion.
