Fall Workshop—Annual Meeting
“How to Get Ready? Preparing for NIC Testing”

This interactive, hands-on workshop is
designed for students and working interpreters interested in taking the NIC. Its
objective is to give an overview of the
NIC and suggestions for developing a
study plan for all three parts of the
test.
Participants will leave the workshop
with: :
• An introduction to the parts of the
NIC test
• The types of questions and scenarios
one may encounter on the test, to
more appropriately pick study materials to match ones skill development
needs
• Resources and suggestions to develop
ones own test preparation study plan

Presenter:
Amy Dixon-Kolar has been an interpreter for twenty-nine
years and an educator for over eighteen years. She holds
CI/CT certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf,
has a BA degree in Deaf Studies and a Masters degree in Adult
Education. She was on faculty for thirteen years in the Sign Language Interpreting Program at Harper College, in Palatine, IL, and
now works as a private practice interpreter, presenter and
consultant. She was hired by the State of Illinois to develop
and deliver training to educational interpreters throughout the
state and also works with the Outreach Program for the Illinois School for the Deaf.
This event is ADA accessible. Interpreting services
available upon request. Request must be made by
