Assembly Deep Sea Angling Club PO Box 7920 Pretoria 0001 ZAVORA GAME FISH CLASSIC 2015 ASSEMBLY DEEP SEA ANGLING CLUB Invites you to participate in this elite competition from 30 March 2015 to 3 April 2015 (School holiday) at Zavora, Mozambique. Six boats entered the 2014 Zavora Game fish Classic and we were blessed with excellent fishing. The Fish caught during this competition were in excess of 12 species. Launching and beaching is in a well-protected bay and the area is littered with excellent reefs that harbor abundant fish ready for some great fun. The venue for this competition is ideal with splendid thatched bungalows, camping sites and houses overlooking the beach. The competition is organized to give all participants' i.e. Anglers and Non-anglers, an equal opportunity of winning excellent prizes while enjoying themselves at a prime location on the Mozambique coast. COMPETITION RULES GENERAL 1. 2. 3. Line class - Open (IGFA rules apply). Teams must consist of at least 2 anglers. (Except Jet Ski entries). Skippers must have a valid skipper's license and boats must have a valid seaworthy certificate. ENTRY FEES 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. An entry fee of R950.00 per Angler. (Includes all competition functions and hamper.) An additional R250.00 per Non-angler is payable to participate in all functions. Entry fee must be received no later than 28 January 2015. Entry fee for late entrants (after 28 January 2015) will be R950.00 per Angler and will not receive a hamper on registration. No refunds for withdrawals. All King fish Points a. b. c. d. e. f. scoring system Game fish Sail fish Marlin King fish 4 kg Tag / Tip & Release Tag / Tip & Release Measurement & Release - One point for every kilogram 30 Points for Tag / Tip & Release 50 Points for Tag / Tip & Release King Fish length will be converted to weight, and scored 1 point per kg. Fish will have to be measured with a ruler that will be supplied, and a photo with timestamp must be submitted at the weigh in. Species total weighing points scored for the week will be multiplied by the quantity of species caught for the week. Bill fish All Bill fish must be Tag / Tip & Release. Bill fish removed from the sea can carry a fine if a license is not obtained from the Mozambique Maritime authorities. 3. Tag / Tip and release a. Bill fish / King fish. b. Must be witnessed by a witness boat or a photo that gives a timestamp on the photo and must be provided to qualify for points as specified in paragraph 2. c. For Bill fish once the leader touches the tip of the rod the fish will be legal. 4. Team participation a. Every Full Team who attends the official competition functions, for the full duration of the function, will score 5 points per function but no species points. b. Teams / Anglers must sign the register on arrival and departure. King fish Measurement. WEIGH IN Page 2 1. A maximum of 10 fish per species, per boat for the whole competition will be weighed. 2. No Bottom fish or Sharks will be weighed. 3. Only species as per attached list will be weighed. A Weather Committee will be selected consisting of local fisherman and Competition Committee members. The Committee's decision to call off a fishing day due to bad weather conditions or safety considerations shall be final. PROGRAM 1. Sunday 29 March 2015 Skippers briefing at Beach bar starting at 16h00 Registration at 17h00 (Team photos) Opening function at 17h30 (Competition function 1 ) Cash bar available (Burger's will be served and cash bar will be available). 2. Monday 30 March 2015 Launch on safety committee's approval. Scale opens at 16h00 and only the fish in the ring will be weighed. 3. Tuesday 31 April 2015 Launch on safety committee’s approval. Scale opens at 16h00 and only the fish in the ring will be weighed. 4. Wednesday 1 April 2015 Launch on safety committee’s approval. Scale opens at 16h00 and only the fish in the ring will be weighed 5. Thursday 2 April 2015 Launch on safety committee’s approval. Scale opens at 16h00 and only the fish in the ring will be weighed 6. Friday 3 April 2015 Launch on safety committee’s approval. Scale opens at 14h00 and only the fish in the ring will be weighed. Closing function at 18h00 (Competition function 2) Dinner will be served and cash bar will be available. PRIZE GIVING Friday at 19h00 on the beach in front of the beach bar, dinner will be served (Cash bar available on premises). Page 3 COMPLAINTS Any complaints must be in writing and accompanied by a R500-00 cash fee. The complaint must be addressed to the Competition Committee. The Competition Committee's decision will be final. RADIO 29MHZ 1. 2. No boat shall be allowed to launch unless the Skipper proves to the Competition Officer (Jacques Bernard) that the boat’s radio is in a working condition. There shall be a daily call up at 11h00. Failure to respond to this call up shall result in disqualification for that day's catch. (Relay messages to ensure adherence to call up will be allowed.) SKIPPERS 1. 2. All Skippers will be responsible for obtaining their own fishing licenses and launching permits from the Mozambique Fisheries at the Zavora reception. Every boat that uses the ramp will also be required to obtain a beach permit. SAFETY 1. 2. 3. 4. All classed boats shall strictly adhere to their safety regulations as laid down by SAMSA. Failure to adhere to the safety regulations shall result in disqualification for the day's catch. All safety procedures and regulations shall be strictly applied in accordance with the applicable legislations and regulations, promulgated there under. The Competition Committee reserves the right to ground any boat, should they fail to adhere to a violation of this paragraph / section. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Travelling distance, road tarred all the way accept for 17 km from campsite / lodge, this gravel road is in very good condition and can be travelled by normal car. a.
