NX 300h / NX 200t Maintenance Reminder Reset

NX 300h / NX 200t Maintenance Reminder Reset
Quick Training Guide
Outline
The 2015 NX 300h and NX 200t received a new oil maintenance reminder system. This system
is in addition to the scheduled maintenance reminder system found on all Lexus vehicles that
alerts the driver every 5,000 miles. It is imperative that technicians understand that there are
two separate systems, each with their own reset procedure. This Quick Training Guide will
explain the reset procedure for both systems.

System Overview
Both the 2015 NX 300h and NX 200t have a new oil maintenance reminder system that will
display how many miles are left before the oil needs to be changed. The remaining oil
maintenance mileage is calculated based on fuel consumption, engine coolant temperature and
vehicle speed. This mileage will vary from the other scheduled maintenance that takes place
every 5,000 miles (tire rotation, etc.).
The system will alert the customer via the multi-information display as follows:
• When remaining oil maintenance mileage reaches 500 miles, “Oil Maintenance
Required Soon” is displayed
• When remaining oil maintenance mileage reaches to 0 miles, “Oil Maintenance
Required Visit Your Dealer” is displayed
The customer or technician can verify how many miles remain until the next oil change by
viewing the odometer/trip meter. To access this feature, press the ODO/ TRIP switch as
follows:
ODO TRIP A  TRIP B  Miles to next oil change ODO.

Hints and Tips
Always remember these two things when resetting the maintenance reminders:
1. Resetting the oil maintenance reminder does not reset the scheduled maintenance
reminder
2. Resetting the scheduled maintenance reminder does not reset the oil maintenance
reminder
The oil change interval will vary based on customer driving habits, and will probably not occur
simultaneously with other scheduled maintenance items. To ensure customer satisfaction be
sure to verify if any additional service may be needed soon, as they may wish to complete the
service early instead of coming back for second appointment in a short period of time.
