IL LAZZARETTO, a new reference point for design and
the arts in Milan, presents “ON AN EMPTY STOMACH”
For the Salone del Mobile 2015, Il Lazzaretto presents “ON AN EMPTY STOMACH”, objects,
thoughts and projects on the topic of fasting.
Milan, 14 April 2015
From the 14th to the 19th of April, in via Lazzaretto 15, Milan, design, art and words will bring to life “ON
AN EMPTY STOMACH”, an exhibition of projects on the topic of fasting , based on a creative concept
by Linda Ronzoni, Andrea Vitullo and Alfred Drago, developed and curated by Studio DWA - Alberto
Artesani and Frederik De Wachter.
The exhibition, promoted by Spin-To during Milano Design Week 2015, and part of the Porta Venezia in
Design circuit, is going to present works by twenty-one artists and designers who have been invited
especially to interpret the delicate and complex topic of fasting through their creations.
A truly provocative theme for the year devoted to Expo 2015, during which Milan will host the food
debate and, above all, will provide an opportunity for unprecedented reflection on a complex topic that
also carries numerous possibilities for creative and regenerative visions.
“ON AN EMPTY STOMACH” will also mark the opening of IL LAZZARETTO. The event will be the first
of a string designed to enliven the location throughout the year, and to further develop the substantial fasting
issue.
IL LAZZARETTO, a space founded by Alfred Drago and Roberta Rocca, designed and created by
DWA, is also a cultural association, a place where designers, graphic artists, writers, photographers, actors,
musicians, yoga teachers, and cooks, can meet up, and work on brand new contaminations.
IL LAZZARETTO also aims to spark fresh projects loyal to the district, plus a touch of international ambition,
able to combine work and relations, culture and wellbeing, urban roots and the global territory.
