Fishing
Optis Memory
Spearing a Tubing Fish
EV downhole cameras
are very beneficial tools in
aiding fishing operations.
There’s nothing comparable
to getting a visual picture
of the problem. Once seen,
the correct fishing method
can be implemented right
away and guesswork is
removed - saving time,
money, and frustration

EV Optis cameras have proven
Open Frac Ports
to be a valuable tool in assessing
the condition of completion assemblies. The use of the camera for sliding
sleeve, frac port, frac ball, and packer inspection is becoming common practice for many operators. Partial sleeve openings, damaged, frac ports, frac
balls where they shouldn’t be, and parted packers have been seen. When
completing a well - run a camera and get a look at what is really going on.

Perforation Inspection
Mechanical Inspection
The side viewing camera of the Optis e-line system is an excellent tool for
perforation inspections. Answer questions about production anomalies or the
overall condition and placement of perfs by having a look directly at them. Fluid
entry though perforations can also be observed.
There’s nothing better than
an EV camera when you
need to assess the condition
of mechanical assemblies
inside the wellbore or on
surface. Well heads under
pressure, gas lift valves,
diverter windows for laterals,
and other various downhole
assemblies can be readily
inspected to get the answers
you need.

When possible casing
damage is suspected
there’s no better tool
than an EV camera for
determining exactly
what and where the
problem is. Holes, parts,
shifts, splits, etc. can
be easily identified. A
practical and efficient
remediation plan can be
implemented once the
problem is seen.

API Log Linked to Video
The EV Optis Memory Camera can be combined with a ruggedized memory PTCCL
tool (with Pressure Temperature and CCL measurements) to definitively identify water
entry points in a well. The full motion HD video provides instant confirmation of the
water entry as can be seen in the example above. The temperature and pressure sensors of the PTCCL tool aid in confirming the entry point. This is especially useful if the
water entry is happening in a tubular already full of produced water and may not be
readily apparent in the video alone. A CCL output allows for precise correlation of the
video and PT information with previously run logs.
With water entry points confirmed, remediation steps to plug back or squeeze off the
water production can begin. The end result is a well with significantly higher hydrocarbon production and increased efficiency.
Wellhead Inspection
The EV Optis Memory Camera can be run using a 2-way hydraulic pump to inspect
wellheads and/or other surface equipment under pressures of up to 15,000 psi. A
hydraulic jack is attached using standard connections to an arm of the wellhead
with the memory camera on the
inside. The tool is then pumped into
position with the jack and the wellhead valve is opened. The pump
can move the camera further in
and/or back out of the wellhead as
needed. This arrangement is especially useful for valve inspections
when pressure on the well cannot
be alleviated. Damage to the valve
and/or sealing area can be seen easily with HD resolution. With visual
confirmation of the problem, operators can then move on to remedial
steps with confidence.

Hydrates
With high definition, full
motion color video and
sound capabilities, EV
cameras are an excellent
option for qualitative
production logging.
Whether you run them in
tandem with production
logging (PL) tools or by
themselves, EV cameras
can help explain and
enhance the information
that traditional PL tools
may have missed. Cameras
are also the perfect tool
to combine with a caliper
run so you can actually see
what you have measured.
