The jury made its decision: Six projects on the short list for
the Audio Branding Awards 2015
Hamburg, March 20th, 2015
Six projects compete for the international “Audio Branding Awards
2015” on May 28th in Berlin. Among them are Ahléns City, French
Open, Fruttare, HUGO BOSS, KLM Airline and Wiener Linien. These
Best Practice Cases are being presented to the international expert
audience of the ABAWARDS 2015. Prizes in Gold, Silver and
Bronze, plus an audience award, are being awarded to the winners.
ABAWARDS Finalists 2015:
Åhléns City, Agency: Lexter Ljuddesign, Sweden
Sweden’s biggest department store is an example of how music can be used at the
PoS. The implementation of the sound concept in the children’s department
increases the acoustic feel-good factor and creates acoustic experiences for the little
ones.
French Open, Agency: Sixième Son, France
The prestigious French Open tennis tournament „Roland Garros“ uses music in live
communication to convey emotions and brand values. The aesthetic sound elements
are being used in about 50 variations: as the players enter, at the final applause, at
the awards ceremony, etc. In the international TV-coverage, the brand music
attracted special attention.
Fruttare, Agency: CORD Worldwide, United Kingdom
Major market research was conducted to identify the DNA of a real summer hit with
the aim to bring Unilever’s ice cream „Fruttare“ together with cheerful music. The
derived sound identity is being used in different touchpoints and inspires fans and
customers around the world.
HUGO BOSS, Agency: HearDis! Corporate Sound GmbH, Germany
The HUGO BOSS Sound Manual was developed with the aim to define the musical
range of the brand universe of HUGO BOSS. In major market research, the musical
genre, style and brand values of BOSS, BOSS Orange, BOSS Green and HUGO
were being identified, visualized and represented acoustically.

KLM Royal Durch Airlines, Agency: MassiveMusic, Netherlands
The Dutch Airline KLM conveys the brand values “security” and “tradition” within their
sound identity. Online and off-line the brand song, the audio logo and further sound
elements are being used.
Wiener Linien, Agency: SOUND STRATEGY / why do birds, Austria/Germany
The „Vienna Waltz“ by Johann Strauss and its 6/8-rhythm is the musical basis for the
sound identity of the public transport company in Vienna. A clear, pleasant brand
voice and a simple gong provide orientation.

ABAWARDS 2015: Comprehensive congress programme
The three-day event offers an academy day for composers, producers, Audio
Branding experts and specialists from Marketing and Branding on May 27th. In four
different workshops, participants can acquire or deepen their knowledge. Further

The event ends with the Audio Branding Summit of the Audio Branding Society on
May 29th. The Summit is an exclusive industry meeting of international Audio
Branding experts.
Exclusive evening gala on May 28th on the river Spree
After the presentations at the Humboldt University Berlin, the Audio Branding
Academy invites participants to a cruise on the River Spree. Aboard a party boat, the
ABAWARDS audience will celebrate the winners and explore Berlin at night.
Composer Sebastian Gampert, with his project 25helicopters (GumpMusic),
promises refined live sound design on board the party boat.
About the ABAWARDS
For the sixth time now, the Audio Branding Academy invites international experts to
discuss trends and developments within the industry. Previously in
Hamburg, New York, Oxford and Moscow, the event will now take place in Berlin for
the first time.
