REVEREND LEROY QUARLES, III was born March 8, 1962 in
Warrenville, South Carolina, the son of the late Mr. Jimmy Quarles
and his brother Melvin Quarles. He departed this life on Monday,
March 2, 2015 at his home.
Reverend Leroy Quarles, III was a native of Warrenville, South
Carolina, but lived most of his life in Augusta, Georgia. He was a
graduate of T. W. Josey High School and attended North Carolina
A&T.
Leroy enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his
country faithfully; and was previously employed by Proctor and
Gamble of Augusta, Georgia. He held the position as manager of
the Police Benevolent Office of Georgia.
He was baptized at First Providence Baptist Church at a early age
by Reverend Dr. Alexander Pope, Jr. He was ordained at Christ
Center Outreach Ministry on April 29, 2012 by Bishop Willie J.
Jackson. He was the assistant to Pastor Hope Iglehart at Showers
of Blessings in Augusta, Georgia in 2014.
Left to cherish in his memories are: his mother, Rev. Gloria (Deacon
Frank) Donahue; four sisters, Marie Alexander (Micheal), Augusta,
GA, Yvonne Quarles, Charlotte, NC, Jacqueline Donahue, Augusta,
GA and Sabrina (James) Donahue Dickerson, Augusta, GA; brother,
Rev. Jimmy (Brenda) Quarles, Hephzibah, GA; a cousin like a
brother, Charles (Betty) Mealer, North Augusta, SC; six aunts,
Hazel Wade, North Augusta, SC, Shirley Ann Shiver, Clearwater,
SC, Brenda Quarles, Clearwater, SC, Carlene Jones, Wagener,
SC, Betty Ann Gaff, New Jersey, Ahtea Robinson, Maryland; four
uncles, Larnzer Quarles, New York, Louis (Wendy) Patterson,
Graniteville, SC, Stevie Quarles, Augusta, GA and Solomon Jones,
Warrenville, SC; great uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Elijah (Nancy)
Blocker, Aiken, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives
and loving friends.
