Kylee Sharp moved to Kenya where she lived and worked
for 10 years. She studied traditional African dance (mainly
traditional East African dance) and acrobatics. She was a
founding member of the 'Salto Jamboree' dance and
acrobatic troupe, performing in Africa and around the world.
She performed at the 'Golden Circus' in Rome in 2002, and
toured Netherlands and Belgium with Festival Mundial in
2003.
Performing in Africa gave her some of the most memorable
experiences however, performing for the Kenyan, Ugandan
and Tanzanian Presidents during a Heads of Government
summit, following which her troupe was invited to perform
at the home of the Kenyan President, for his birthday party
was a definite highlight. Kylee trains with the 'Dundunba'
African Dance and Drumming Troupe and has been
teaching and performing the vibrant and energetic dances
of West Africa for many years. Kylee has a deep knowledge
of and passion for African Dance, which she loves to share
with others.
