AAA Congratulates its School Safety Patrollers of the Year Launched in the early 1920s, the AAA School Safety Patrol Program™ is the largest traffic safety program in the world. Currently, there are nearly 182,000 patrollers from approximately 7,000 elementary schools within the Auto Club Group footprint, all providing a safer environment for their classmates traveling to and from school. The Patroller of the Year Awards recognize patrollers who best exemplify leadership qualities and perform their duties effectively and responsibly. To qualify, nominees must submit an essay describing their patroller experience and their Safety Patrol advisor must do the same.
