Case Study
ArcelorMittal has invested over $1bn to bring the iron ore mine near Yekepa, Liberia back into
production following 10 years of civil war. Ore is shipped by rail from Yekepa to the port of
Buchanan, where it is loaded onto ships destined for the major world markets.
With large vehicle and equipment fleets working in these challenging environments, ArcelorMittal
required a solution that would keep its fleet operational at all times. AMS designed and implemented
a Dedicated Maintenance Program which ensured the fleet now operates at it's optimal level.
ArcellorMittal saw the value of our Dedicated Maintenance Program in Buchanan and they extended
the project scope to include additional vehicles and equipment at a secondary site in Yekepa.
