Antelope Valley Hospital Appoints
New Emergency Department Director
(LANCASTER, Calif. – March 25, 2015) – Antelope Valley Hospital has named Ryan
White, MSN, RN, as emergency department (ED) director, effective March 23. White
previously served as senior director of adult and pediatric emergency services at the
Brooklyn Hospital in New York.
White brings 20 years of experience as a nurse within the specialty of emergency
services. Previous positions include interim senior director of emergency services at
Albert Einstein Health Network in Philadelphia and ED nurse manager at Mercy
Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. He earned his Masters of Science in
Nursing from the University of Hartford in Connecticut and a Bachelor of Science in
Nursing from Central Connecticut State University.
In his new position White will oversee the operations and clinical performance of
Antelope Valley Hospital’s emergency department. “Ryan has a demonstrated track
record of exceptional management abilities in emergency services,” said AVH Chief
Operating Officer Jack Burke, RN. “Under his leadership, AVH will be implementing
new policies and procedures to manage lifesaving emergencies as well as less
urgent cases as efficiently and expediently as possible.”
With more than 115,000 visits a year, the ED is the second busiest in the state of
California. The department serves as a STEMI receiving center for the treatment of
heart attack patients and has been named a Certified Advanced Primary Stroke
Center by The Joint Commission, attesting that the hospital provides the most
advanced stroke care 24/7.
