Note: WOF means width of fabric from selvage edge to selvage edge.
2 1/8 yards Focus Floral Print, 120-7401
Fat Eighth each of 9 coordinating pieces,
120-7412, 120-7421, 120-7431, 120-7432,
120-7433, 120-7451, 120-7461, 120-7472,
120-7483,
3 strips 5 1/2” x 51”
2 strips 4” x 53 1/2”
2 strips 4” x 64 1/2”
(2) 6 1/4” squares
1 1/4 yard Medium Purple, 120-7471

Set aside remaining medium purple for binding.
Fat Eighth each of 4 coordinating pieces,
120-7411, 120-7442, 120-7441, 120-7482
(1) 6 1/4” square cut in half diagonally once to make 2
end triangles
2 yards Light Purple, 120-7481
5 strips 1 1/2” x WOF, set aside for inner border
3 strips 9 1/2” x WOF, then cut (12) 9 1/2” squares
cut in half diagonally twice to make 48 triangles
3 3/4 yards Backing of Choice
2 pieces 67 1/2” long
Piecing the Quilt Center
Note: Use a 1/4” seam allowance for all stitching.
1. Sew a light purple triangle to an end triangle right sides together. Press toward the end triangle.
Repeat with remaining 7 end triangles to make a total of 8 end segments.

2. Sew a light purple triangle to opposite sides of a 6 1/4” square. Press seams toward the square. Repeat with the
remaining 19 squares to make a total of 20 center segments.

3. Using 2 end segments and 5 center segments, sew a pieced strip according to diagram below. Press seams as
you go. Repeat with the remaining end and center segments to create 4 pieced strips.

4. Following the exploded quilt diagram, sew the (3) 5 1/2” x 51” focus floral print strips in between the 4 pieced
strips. Press the seams toward the focus print. Sew all the units together to complete the quilt top center.
Completing the Quilt
1. Sew the 1 1/2” x WOF light purple strips short ends together to make one long strip. Press the seams to one
side. Cut into (2) 1 1/2” x 47 1/2” strips and (2) 53 1/2” strips. Sew the 47 1/2” strips to the top and bottom of the
quilt center and the 53 1/2” strips to the sides of the quilt center. Press the seams toward the light purple strips.
2. Sew the 2 1/2” x WOF medium purple strips short ends together to make one long strip. Press the seams to
one side. Cut (2) 2 1/2” x 49 1/2”” strips and (2) 2 1/2” x 57 1/2” strips. Sew the 49 1/2” strips to the top and bottom of the quilt center and the 57 1/2” strips to the sides of the quilt center. Press the seams toward the medium
purple strips.
3. Sew the (2) 4” x 53 1/2” of the focus floral print strips to the top and bottom of the quilt center. Sew the (2) 4”
x 64 1/2” strips of the focus floral print to the sides of the quilt center. Press the seams toward the outer border.
4. Remove the selvage edges from the 67 1/2” backing pieces. Join the pieces on the long edges using a 1/2”
seam allowance. Press the seam open.
5. Layer and quilt as desired. Use the remaining medium purple to bind the finished quilt according to your favorite method.
