A THREE-DAYS ENTERTAINMENT
A non-stop 72 hours of multi level
enchantment, a continuous sequence of
magic where the guests lost the sense
of the time and the space.
The project, was divided into three
“acts”. Each day the theme of the
entertainment changed, surprising the
guests with a new “extravaganza”.
THE COMPANY
Balich Worldwide Shows was founded
in 2013 by Marco Balich, Gianmaria Serra
and Simone Merico.
These three partners, who can draw
on twenty years of experience in the
large-scale events world, joined forces,
combining their various skills and a shared
vision to create a new enterprise
that is already showing its worth
in the most important global events.
BWS creates, develops and produces
large-scale events, Olympic Ceremonies,
permanent shows and new,
ground-breaking formats.
The company has its headquarters in Milan
(Italy) and operates all over the world.

MARCO BALICH
Marco is referred to as the “Designer of Emotions”.
His career began in the music world, organizing
big international concerts for stars such as Pink Floyd,
U2 and Peter Gabriel, he is also the mind behind the creation
of the Heineken Jammin’ Festival.
His artistic path successfully lead him to explore television,
videoclips and any creative territory involving emotion,
sound and vision.
Today Marco Balich is an absolute Olympic Ceremony expert,
his know-how appreciated all over the world: from the 2002
Salt Lake City Flag Handover to the 2006 Winter Olympics
Ceremonies in Torino; from the 2012 London Olympics Flag
Handover to the 2014 Games organized in Sochi; he will also
be the Executive Producer of the 2016 Olympic Ceremonies
in Rio de Janeiro.
He has received an Emmy Award for his work.
Marco Balich is the Artistic Director of the Padiglione Italia
(Italian Pavilion) - Expo 2015, Milano (Italy). He is the creator
of the Concept behind the Italian Pavilion; moreover,
with Balich Worldwide Shows, he is in charge of the Artistic
Direction and Executive Production of the iconic and spectacular “Albero della Vita” (Tree of Life), the main symbol
of the Italian Pavilion at the Expo 2015.

Gianmaria Serra is a true expert in engineering complex
production and management systems.
AMONG THE MAIN PROJECTS HE HAS MANAGED
He began his career at the end of the 90’s as Production
Manager for advertising campaigns and prime time TV shows.
With the 2006 Torino Olympics he became major events
Executive Producer. He held the post of Director
of the International Events Division at Filmmaster Events
until September 2013.

his Olympic adventures, Gianmaria has proven
to be invaluable, turning ideas to fruition, always finding
innovative production systems.

SIMONE MERICO
MANAGING PARTNER
VICE - PRESIDENT AND BUSINESS DIRECTOR
With a degree in Engineering and a specialization
at UCLA, Simone Merico has over 15 years of experience
in the events and entertainment industry.
He has acquired significant experience in setting up
and managing event agencies and designing global
partnerships in event production. He has also managed
the construction and the entertainment program
of a theme park.
DURING HIS CAREER HE HAS MANAGED
Simone Merico started as Producer and then progressed
to C.E.O at Filmmaster Events. He held the post until
November 2013, when he left the Company.

Theme Park, where he created the business plan
and curated both the creative and technical projects.
