MAY 2015 NEWSLETTER
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to May! It is so great to see the sun and enjoy the opportunity for different outdoor activities.
The fields, basketball court, and tarmac area are full of happy active children.
Our School Advisory Council hosted another successful Family Games’ Night! Our Book Fair was a
big hit too! Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support.
Thank-you to the Limestone Learning Foundation and the Estate of Larry Gibson for the generous
grant of $10 000 to Bath PS in support of the "Three String Jam" project. On April 16, 2015 Bath PS
students and Ms. Baetz performed at the LLF presentation using some of the instruments that this
grant will provide. Graeme Fraser, co-Executor of the Estate of Larry Gibson presented Ms. Baetz
with a cheque that will be used to purchase Loog guitars, straps, tuners, and other equipment.
Congratulations to Ms. Baetz whose hard work and creativity coordinating this project, has helped to
bring exciting learning opportunities to the students of Bath Public School.
We have been working hard on being an eco-friendly school. Litterless lunch day was a big success.
We did a great job cleaning up our school yard and our community with our “Pitch In” day! Our EcoFair was excellent, lots of informative projects and presentations from K-6!
Our Music Monday Assembly will be Monday, May 4 th at 2pm. We are looking forward to seeing you
at our Track and Field Meet May 20th. Lots of fun in the sun!
We have a PD Day on Friday May 22nd for reporting. EQAO for grades 3 and 6 students begins on
May 25th and ends June 5th. May is going to be a busy month with various class trips and activities
planned.
We thank-you for your continued support and please feel free to call us if you have any questions.

MORNING DROP OFF
Students being dropped off at school in the
morning must be dropped off between 8:55
and 9:10am on the yard. Students should not
be coming in the front door unless it is after the
bell at 9:10 and they must be accompanied by a
parent or guardian signing them in.
SEVERE FOOD ALLERGIES
We have some students with severe allergic
reactions to all kinds of nuts (not just peanuts),
and other products. Because of the nature of
nut allergies that are potentially life
threatening,
we
ask that: NO NUT
PRODUCTS BE BROUGHT TO SCHOOL OR EATEN
AT SCHOOL. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
FAMILY HANDOUTS
For students whose parents do not live together, we are
willing to send home two copies of newsletters, notices,
mailouts, etc. in order for both parents to stay informed
about their child’s education. If you wish us to do this,
please contact the school office to let us know.
A sincere thank you to our volunteers Jane Davis, Jen
Condflower, Janice Miller and Tracey Homer and to the
many staff members that helped throughout the week.
Your help was greatly appreciated.

ANTI-BULLYING DAY POEMS
FROM MRS. MORRISEY’S
GR. 6 STUDENTS
I am the bullied
I wonder if I changed my personality the bullies would
stop
I hear the bullies talking behind my back
I see everyone sharing secrets but not with me
I want everyone to stop being mean to me
I am the bullied
I pretend to be someone everyone will like
I fell the wet tears dripping from my face
I touch my bleeding elbows
I worry about what will happen today
I cry every day when I come home from school
I am the bullied
I understand that nothing will change
I say to bullies “STOP” but they never do
I dream to be like everyone else
I try to be like everyone else but it doesn’t work
I hope that everyone would just stop
I am the bullied
By: Madisyn Morrison
I am a bully
I wonder what I’ll do today
I here there are many scared
I see them running away
I want to see their pain
I am a bully
I pretend that I am tough but I am not
I feel hurt, sad, fake
I touch, I break, I wreck, I make
I worry if they know that I will break
I cry knowing that they are hurt
I am a bully
I understand that it is wrong
I say that it is right
I dream that I will stop
I try but I just fail
I hope I’ll realize what to do
I am a bully
By: Khalia Joseph-Samuels
I am a bystander
I wonder where the next fight will be
I hear bullied people crying in the bathroom
I see a crowd in a ring
I want to help the bullied
I am a bystander
I pretend I don’t see anything
I feel sorry for the bullied and the bully
I touch my forehead, ashamed of what I haven’t done
I worry I will be the next one bullied
I cry because I did not do anything
I am a bystander
I understand what I need to do for the bullied
I say I will help but I don’t
I dream of a world without bullies
I try not to look
I hope all bullying will come to an end
I am a bystander
