7. YOUR PROPOSED STUDY PROGRAMME
Please read the instructions for Exchange & Visiting Students (www.bath.ac.uk/study/exchange-visiting/ ) in order to
select the units which you wish to study. Choice of units will be subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed in
advance, but your provisional selection will enable the University of Bath and your home institution to make sure that
your choice is broadly appropriate. Students will normally be expected to take between 24 and 30 credits per
semester. Please include at least three additional units as reserves.
For all subject areas except the School of Management, the Unit Catalogue is online at www.bath.ac.uk/catalogues/
For School of Management exchanges please see
http://www.bath.ac.uk/management/courses/undergraduate/bba/international/incoming_students.html
Students must take the majority of their units in the subject area in which the exchange is held. In order to minimise
the potential for timetable clashes (since the timetable is not known in advance), we advise you to take the majority of
your units from one year of one of your department’s degree programmes.
Students may take units from Bachelor’s degree programmes (BA and BSc programmes) and from "undergraduate
Master's" degree programmes (e.g. MBiol, MChem, MEng, MMath, MPharm, and MPhys programmes). These units
are marked Levels 1 to 4 in our Unit Catalogue.
Exchange and Visiting Students are not permitted to take units from postgraduate Master’s and Doctoral degree
programmes. These are marked Levels 5 to 6 in the Unit Catalogue.
