Psychosexual Therapy An Introductory Workshop only Di Johnston £55 Saturday 25th April 2015 10am-4pm Psychosexual Therapy An Introductory Workshop facilitated by Di Johnston Suitable for Supervisors, Counsellors/Therapists and Psychologists This training day will look at sexual language, values and myths. It will consider the functions of sexuality and gender in people’s lives and relationships, and will teach about sexual dysfunctions and interventions. The day will begin with considering our sexual knowledge, values and opinions. Sexual language and terminology chosen by clients can help us to understand the meaning sex has for them. Many clients present with sexual dysfunctions, so we will be looking at what these are and how psychosexual therapy can offer interventions and treatment programmes to deal with sexual problems. Di Johnston is a psychosexual therapist registered and accredited with the College of Sexual and Relationship Psychotherapy. She is also a Relate qualified couple counsellor, an ATSAC qualified sex addiction counsellor, a UKCP registered psychotherapist and a BACP senior accredited counsellor. She has practised psychosexual therapy within the NHS, Relate and independently. She is an accredited supervisor, and has worked as a supervisor with many organisations. Confidence in self and communication with a partner can also be part of the work. Psychosexual therapy works with all sexual concerns, so there will be opportunity for delegates to explore issues such as how sex addiction, abuse, gender issues, paraphilias and sexual orientation might be brought to therapy, and what the work could be.
