First Year Project Committee Membership Form
Systems Neuroscience Program
Instructions: Work with your Research Advisor to identify a research question and to develop a proposal for the
first year project. This proposal (2-5 pages) will describe the rationale and methodology of the research project
and include key references. Consult with the research advisor to identify two other faculty committee members
who have appropriate expertise for the proposed research project. Provide a copy of the proposal to the
committee members and invite them to serve on the committee. Contact these faculty members several weeks
in advance of the deadline so that there is sufficient time for faculty to review the proposal and discuss it with
you. Faculty members agreeing to serve on the First Year Project Committee will then sign this form. Submit a
copy of the proposal and this completed and signed form to the Academic Support Coordinator by February 15
of the first year of study.
