Rachel Davis Executive Director | AHCA / AALA [email protected] Pre-Conference Intensive: Quality Partners Workshop This intensive workshop utilizes the techniques of Teepa Snow to assist Directors of Nursing, Administration, and Consultants in training Direct Care staff on the basic principles of Dementia and how it effects the brain as well as hands on application of these principles. A binder providing a breakdown of in-services on these topics and key points when utilizing the Positive Approach and Hand Under Hand techniques will be provided in an effort to allow easier dissemination of the information. The Positive Approach and Hand Under Hand techniques will be explained in detail as well as how to apply it to multiple care scenarios to allow more confidence when training on these techniques. Behavior prevention and communicating with Residents with Dementia will also be covered. This will assist in the continued effort to reduce the use of Antipsychotics in facilities. Case studies and interactive in-service will be provided to allow easy replication when training Direct Care staff. *Registration includes this workshop attendance.
