Sports Corner
A Tomtato Plant
Willow Class have enjoyed a busy week
gardening and bug hunting . They have planted
a Tomtato which is a plant that will grow
tomatoes and potatoes! We look forward to
sampling the fruits produced.
It’s been another busy week on
the sporting front. On Monday, a
team of Year 6 children took part
in the Sports Partnership
Rounders competition. The team,
Oliver D,Cailyn C, Ashleigh A,
Holly C, Katie B, Ethan D, Michael F, Kian C and
Lucas C, played competitively and in a sporting
manner, finishing 7th overall. On Tuesday, our boys
cricket team travelled to Mildmay Junior School for
a match. The boys’ bowling and batting skills came
to the fore in a strong performance winning by 48
runs to 11.
Well done to Bailey G, Joshua C, Kian C, Lewis |K,
Charlie Y, Ethan D, Michael F and William D.
Good luck to the hockey team next week as they
represent not just our school but the whole of
Chelmsford in a competition at the Olympic Park,
what an achievement.

Mini Olympics
On Tuesday morning Year 2 travelled to
Chelmsford Athletics Stadium to take part in the
Mini Olympics. Each school took part in an
Olympic style parade representing different
countries complete with a brass band! Beehive Lane
waved the flag for Japan wearing headbands with
Japanese symbols and Koi Carp on them.
The children took part in a variety of activities
including: cheerleading, cup stacking and bike
riding. They collected points individually and as a
team. Everyone had a great time and participated
fully. There was an Olympic style presentation at
the end of the competition. While Beehive Lane
weren’t placed overall, a special mention must go to
Ellie P who was awarded an individual bronze
medal which she proudly showed in assembly this
morning. Well done Ellie!

Aimee W – for trying hard to count in two’s and
drawing and explaining the life cycle of a butterfly.
Joshua A- for fantastic expression in reading.
Finley C – for great progress with his writing and a
much more positive attitude to his work. Well done!
Phoebe B – for confidently using a protractor
to measure angles. Well done Phoebe,
you have worked really hard in Maths
this week.
Tyler C – for showing enthusiasm and
determination to improve his writing and
for using inverted commas accurately.
Harry M – for a steady determination to succeed,
leading to high standards in Maths.
Holly C and Oliver D - for excellent telephone
skills when phoning supermarkets to ask for
donations for our enterprise project.

Meryem K has received two
certificates and badges for
swimming distances of 5 and 10 m
after having only 3 lessons. Well done
Meryem!
Cenk K competed in the Kazen Kai
Martial Arts competition and gained a
trophy for coming first in the
Fighting category and second in the
Kata category.
Lola B received FIVE
trophies for taking part
in an Irish Dancing
competition, two of
them were for two
dances one of which was
called Light Jig and the
other one called Slip Jig.
Playleader
Our Playleaders of the Week are Oliver D, Michael
F, Hermoine F, Lucas C, Charlie Y and Bailey G
for playing great games with the Key Stage 1
children.
