Many of us wait and wonder when will peace come to our life. Everyday, we live
many different roles, from being a child, a lover, a cook, a parent, a poet,
a dreamer and many more. In juggling with these, we often believe that maybe we
will finally have peace when our children are successful or when we reach the
top of the mountain. We wait too long and work too hard to achieve peace, when
actually it is there within us all along.
I believe that being at peace does not mean to be in a place without noise, trouble
or hard work. It means to be amidst those things and still be calm in your heart,
and that nobody can bring you peace but yourself. Peace, like everything else in
life, is a choice, and for that, I choose to be peaceful.
Mother Theresa once said, “Peace begins with a smile”. In Dowa, it is smile plus
