CITY OF BELLEVILLE Leaf & Yard Waste Disposal & Collection – 2015 Leaf & Yard Waste Depot: CITY RESIDENTS may dispose of leaf and yard waste at N O C H A R G E in the designated area at the north side of the Public Works’ building located at 75 Wallbridge Crescent from April 13th, 2015 to November 27th, 2015 during the following hours: Monday & Tuesday Wednesday Thursday & Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Note: The bins will not be available on the following holidays: May 18th, July 1st, August 3rd, September 7th, October 12th and November 11th All City residents will be required to show proof of address. Contractors will only be allowed to dump leaf & yard waste at the Wallbridge Crescent depot collected from Belleville properties. All leaf and yard waste must be dumped in the designated area and Public Works’ staff will deposit the material into the bins. Recyclable paper bags will be accepted – NO PLASTIC BAGS PLEASE. Leaf & Yard Waste Includes: leaves, grass clippings, flowers, fruits, vegetables and organic plant material generated from gardening and yard maintenance, brush and tree limbs (SEE RESTRICTIONS ON BACK OF FLYER). Leaf and Yard Waste DOES NOT INCLUDE: lumber, furniture or any item manufactured from wood; food waste from kitchens, Food Service Operations, Food Processing Facilities or Food Handling Operations. (Note: These items should be composted or placed in regular weekly garbage.) GARBAGE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED Leaf & Yard Waste Curbside Collections – 2015 Ward 1 has been divided into four sections for curbside collections and Ward 2 has been divided into two sections. There will be one collection in the Spring and one in the Fall. Place Leaf and Yard waste to the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the designated dates: IF YOUR RESIDENCE IS LOCATED IN WARD #1: YOUR COLLECTION DATES ARE: West of Moira River & South of CNR Tracks May 2nd and October 31st West of Moira River & North of CNR Tracks South of Highway No. 401 May 9th and November 7th East of Moira River & North of Victoria Avenue South of Highway No. 401 May 23rd and November 14th East of Moira River & South of Victoria Avenue May 30th and November 21st IF YOUR RESIDENCE IS LOCATED IN WARD #2: YOUR COLLECTION DATES ARE: West of Highway No. 37 June 6th and October 17th East of Highway No. 37 June 13th and October 24th Curbside Collections: Leaf & Yard waste can be placed in Kraft paper bags. Also cardboard boxes & bushel baskets can be used at no cost. These containers will be emptied & left at the curbside. PLASTIC BAGS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Brush & Tree Limbs – 2 ¾ inch maximum trunk diameter and no longer than 4 feet; must be securely tied in small bundles. Residents are reminded By-Law No. 98-175 prohibits depositing of leaf & yard waste on public streets.
