Who was God to David?

MINUTE FOR MISSION – Dollar-A- Day - GLAD TIDINGS
INDIA – Unreached People Group Project. We are pleased today to
welcome the Rev. Bill Teate as he introduces a new mission project.
The Mission and Stewardship Committee is asking every household of
our congregation to consider being part of this exciting outreach. The
Dollar - A - Day Unreached People group project will run from June
1, 2015 until May 31, 2016. God is blessing their ministry and
outreach in wonderful ways and we are excited to invite you to join in
this wonderful undertaking.
ROSEBUDS – The rosebuds this morning are in recognition of the
births of Joshua (4/18/2007), Kayden (4/18/2011) and Collin
(10/9/2012) and their recent adoption (May 14, 2015) by Andrew and
Stephanie Johnson. Congratulations can be sent to the Johnson family
at 1027 Monticello Lane, Lancaster, PA 17603.
COFFEE TALK – You are invited to join your brothers and sisters in
Friendship Hall for a time of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cold drinks and
light refreshments.
COMMUNITY SUNDAY – SUNSET VILLAGE/DENLINGER
ROAD – We are delighted this morning to welcome all of our visitors,
but we especially welcome our neighbors from Sunset Village and
Denlinger Road who have joined us in worship this morning. We
invite you to visit the special Welcome Table (next to
the Welcome Center) where we have a gift for you and
information telling about the life and ministry of
Bellevue Church. You are also welcome to gather in
the Church Library following the service to meet with
one of the pastors and ask any questions you might have about our
church. Anyone wishing a brief tour of the church is also asked to
meet in the Library. Thank you for joining us this morning!
KINGDOM KIDS’ END OF YEAR PARTY – The Kingdom Kids
End of the Year party will be on Wednesday, May 27th at the
same time Kingdom Kids meets, and families are invited to
join them for an evening of celebrating their time together.
You will find a signup sheet at the Welcome Center with items
needed for the party if you would like to help. If you have any
questions about Kingdom Kids please see Falon Doutrich, Interim
Director of Children’s Ministries. If you would like to help provide
refreshments for the party you will find a signup sheet in the
notebook at the Welcome Center.
FACTORY OPEN DOOR NIGHT – We will serve dinner one more
time before the summer break on Thursday evening, May 28th and we
are serving large hoagies and ice cream sundaes. Due to the
generosity of the congregation we have funds available to purchase the
hoagies and ice cream. You will find a signup sheet at the Welcome
Center for a few items to complete the meal. Thank you for your
continued support of the Factory Ministries.
BELLEVUE MISSION TRIP OPPORTUNITY – What do you have
planned for June 11- 14th? Why not plan to join others on a short
mission trip to New York to help those still recovering from the effect
of Hurricane Sandy. Cost has been reduced to $50.00
per person due to a generous donation!! Teams will
most likely be engaging in demolition, mold
remediation, and basic rebuild projects. Teams with
skilled labor will be utilized appropriately if possible. Volunteers 13
and 14 years old MUST be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Volunteers should receive a tetanus shot or booster (within the past
five years) before participation in this project.

brochure at the Welcome Center, along with a signup sheet in the
notebook, or you may call the church office for more information.

JOURNEY TO THE POTTER’S HOUSE –The potter is coming
back! If you missed this in October last year you will
want to save the date of June 20, 2015, a Saturday
evening, at 6:30 p.m. A Journey to the Potter’s House is
a mesmerizing, hands-on demonstration of how a potter
works with his clay to form it into a beautiful and useful vessel. But
it’s also an illuminating look into God's relationship with us. Yes,
under God's strong hand, and despite our past, God works to make us
into a vessel of honor, useful for His purpose. And if all of that isn’t
enough to bring you, your family, and friends out to see the program –
we will be holding an Ice Cream Social afterwards
BELLEVUE FALL CONFERENCE - On Faith and Family: How
the Gospel Transforms Relationships in the Home and the Church.
Registration is now open for the
Bellevue Fall Conference and we
encourage each member of Bellevue to
attend. Every Christian has a family, whether it be a nuclear family
and relatives, or your brothers and sisters in Christ, who are your
church family. This conference is aimed to help you grow in both
these family spheres. We have great speakers lined up coming all the
way to Bellevue. We encourage you to sign up on the conference page
on the Bellevue website, or to sign up at the Welcome Center. Flyers
are available at the Welcome Center as well. We have capped the
conference at 200 people so we encourage you to sign up soon. Early
registration, until July 31st is $20 per person, and after that it will be
$30. See you at the conference!
SUMMERFEST 2015 – All youth are invited to SummerFest 2015!
Held on the Shaubach’s farm from June 18-21, this year's SummerFest
will include three nights and four days of speakers who
will challenge and encourage you in your Christian
faith, all while enjoying campfires, water fights, and a
trip to Muddy Run. We will also spend a good portion
of Saturday engaged in a local service project. The
cost for SummerFest is $35/person. Sign up outside
Kevin's office.
SUMMERFEST 2015 NEEDS YOUR HELP! – We are looking for
volunteers -- individuals, families, or community groups -- to supply
the youth with several meals during SummerFest. We are asking that
the meals are delivered to the youth, and that you stay and eat with us!
There is a sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center. Contact Toni Holton
or Kim Mann with questions.
HOTDOGS AND A SOFTBALL GAME – The Bellevue softball
team plays on Monday evenings at the Paradise Park (6 Londonvale
Road, Paradise) each Monday night in the Pequea
Valley Church Softball league. Monday evening,
June 1st, their game is at 6:30 p.m. and they will play
the team from St. John’s Church. However, you will
want to get to the ball field by 6:00 p.m. to enjoy
some hot dogs and fellowship prior to the game
beginning. You are asked to bring a dessert to share. Maybe we could
even arrange to get the team members to sign autographs or have
pictures taken with you?! Save this date and we will see you at the
ballgame on Monday evening, June 1st at 6:00 p.m.!! To help us plan
on how many hot dogs there is a signup sheet at the Welcome Center if
you already know you will be there!
MEMORIAL SERVICE – Our annual Memorial Service will be held
at the conclusion of both worship services on Sunday, May 24th. Each
member of Bellevue who has passed away since last Memorial Day
will be remembered as we read his or her name and toll the bell. We
hope you will join us for this time of honoring our loved ones.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL NEWS – It’s that time of year again!
Vacation Bible School is quickly approaching! Hope
everyone is excited to have a rip roaring time with Jesus!
VBS will be held Sunday, July 19- Thursday, July 23
from 6:30-8:30 each night. We are also in need of some
adult and JR High helpers. Please call (442-4077), email
([email protected]) the church, complete a green
sheet found at the Welcome Center or write Elise
Roelands a note if you are available to help. If you can only help for a
few days that is okay. This year we’re going to have a very exciting
adult class! We’ll be learning about the 5 Solas of the Protestant
Reformation and eating fabulous snacks at the same time in the
company of our senior high kids. That’s right, we’re trying out a
combined adult/teen class this year. Save the dates and join us for a
fun week at Vacation Bible School!
ANNUAL CHURCH PICNIC – Our annual Church Picnic will be
held on Sunday, June 14th at 12:00 noon. The day will
begin with our 8:00 a.m. worship in the sanctuary.
THERE WILL BE NO SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
HELD THAT MORNING. The 10:45 a.m. service will
be held at the Gap (Salisbury) Park. The worship theme
for the morning is “Ponder a Parable” and we are seeking
those who would like to share a favorite parable. Please see the insert
included in the bulletin. For the picnic, families are asked to bring a
main dish and either a salad or a dessert to share. Everyone is asked to
bring a drink. Paper products and eating utensils will be provided but
please bring your serving utensils. You may want to bring lawn chairs
as well. We hope you will join us on Sunday, June 14th for a time of
worship, fellowship and a picnic….and there will be games!
YOUTH MISSION TRIP – This summer, the youth are headed to
Philadelphia for a mission and service trip. Northeast Community
Church (PCA) of Philadelphia is located in a very
ethnically diverse part of the city, with many 1st and
2nd generation families, many from Latin America,
Albania, Iraq, and China. Our goal is to help meet
some physical needs to homes and buildings, develop
a relationship with their youth group, and host an outreach event in a
park on July 4th. Sign up outside Kevin's office.

In the church there are many opportunities to be involved. One area in
need of volunteers is that of our Usher Team Ministry. Each Sunday
morning when you walk into the sanctuary an usher is there to greet
you, hand you a bulletin and assist you in finding a seat for you and
your family. Your smiling face and willingness to be of assistance is a
welcome sight to the weekly worshipping body as well as that new
person that may walk through our doors.
We are preparing our schedule for the June 2015 to May 2016
schedule and would like to invite anyone interested in joining this
ministry. You only need commit for one year, one Sunday a month at
one service. We ask that you prayerfully consider being part of this

The theme of our picnic Sunday worship this year is “Ponder a
Parable”. We are asking members of the Bellevue Church family to
prepare a brief meditation on one of the Parables of Jesus and then be
willing to share it during our worship service on Sunday, June 14 –
both at 8:00 a.m. in the Bellevue sanctuary and at our 10:45 a.m.
worship at the Gap Park.
We will be selecting the Parables to be shared from the following
four categories:

him at 320 Rozet Ave., Lancaster, PA 17602). You can also write it on
a clean sheet of paper with all of the information asked for below.
Nominating Committee held its first meeting on Monday, April 13,
2015. They reviewed and adopted the Nominating Process for elders
and deacons that was written and adopted by the Session. The
guidelines align our nominating process to the Book of Order of the
Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Because all candidates for either
office need to receive instruction and be examined by the Session prior
to their election, nominations from the floor at the Congregational
Meeting to elect officers will no longer be in order.
In an effort to allow the whole congregation to share in the process the
Nominating Committee is seeking suggestions from the congregation
as to possible candidates for the offices of Ruling Elder and Deacon.
In your prayerful deliberation of possible individuals you might
